Strassberg, And Elia Kazan parted ways with Adler and Meisner o.ver the “method” after Adler returned from an interaction with Stanislavsky in France. Stanislavsky abandoned sense memory after one of his actors utilizing recall of a traumatic experience had a nervous breakdown. Imagination fueled by knowledge of the character’s circumstances and relationships became more important than lived experience. Meisner claimed that the internal psychology and inner emotion technique of Strasberg had little to do with the skill of many of Strassberg’s most famous students perhaps with the exception of Marilyn Monroe. They already were extremely competent actors by the time they came to Strasberg.

I’ve started doing research to see if acting is something I might actually enjoy doing and I think it might which surprised me about myself. Yes! The best way is to take an acting class, preferably one that has the opportunity to perform. This will show peers and their guests your acting abilities and if they have an agent and like your work, they might offer to recommend you to the agency or a job in general. As you are getting training, also start your resume with whatever you have even if it is just your training and your name. Then get your headshot and start auditioning for student films.

Currently 13 and already practicing my acting to hopefully portray the role of Elphaba Thorpp (Wicked the Musical). Sadly, I’m blonde with blue eyes so people are saying-“oh you’d make a much better Galinda (later Glinda)”. While I may, I can sing the notes of Defying Gravity but not of any of Glinda’s songs. Wish me luck! I’m hopefully going to be a Broadway actress, as I’ve always enjoyed singing and acting (in the one musical I acted in). It will be harder though because I have to work up from a common Texas- born girl to a talented Broadway actress. 😂🤞🏻 Not to mention- my voice is immature right now so I’m still learning tø exercise my vocal cords to the range (mezzo soprano) that I need. 🥲

The secret to success is failure. Your failures will play a much larger and important role than all your successes multipled. Getting good at being rejected and being comfortable with it is the way. True confidence has to do with how well you deal and feel about your failures and shortcomings and not your successes.

Hi there! I think most people don't do well in front of large crowds. The best tip I can give you is to put yourself in front of large crows where you have to speak or in acting classes. The first 10 or so times it might feel so scary but over time it will get better. You can also try a 10-15 person acting class first to get some confidence in being around people in a safe space.
