Love your reviews man! I have been liking the Wrangler Men's Authentics Outdoor Comfort Flex Cargo Short. You can find them on amazon. I live in SoCal where shorts are what you wear for 90% of the year. These have been solid for more than a year for me. I've taken them to the range, mountain biking, hiking, and just about everything else. The fit is great as well.They are solid especially for $20. They also make a pants version that I enjoy.

Viktos Shorts, the Kadre are my favorite, they have nice pocket set up and are extremely comfortable. The EDC shorts are good as well however a bit snug so might want to go a size up.

My favorite shorts right now Dickies Ripstop 11” cargo. Good budget option. Get the ripstop, not the regular work shorts.

In addition to larger belt loops, larger fly, and a different material (cotton/elastane blend probably), I would also want the interior pocket material to be a comfortable mesh and the back pockets to be internal instead of sewn-on pockets. Price would also have be $40 or less so I could buy 7 pairs to wear all the time.

They are available in pants also. They are called stonecutters. I have a pair they are awesome.

I love their athos shorts and stryke shorts.

Just FYI, when you're talking about the length from the waist down to the crotch seam, that is called the 'rise' of the pant/short. Love the videos!

Try the vikos shorts, they have some good ideas. I personally have never tried them but they seem like they bring some ideas to the table.

I prefer the 5.11 apex shorts. The cargo pocket is close to the body but you can put 4 30-round AR mags in them. Not that you need to. I like the stretch to them. Great video!

I thought I remembered from your reviews that you liked the Apex and the Ridgeline pants. I've said it on the previous video, but I'll say it again: Try the Apex and Vaporlite shorts. Vaporlites are modified Ridgelines, and Apex are pretty much like the pants.

What type of shoes or boots do you use with your shorts ????

If you don't mind the extra cost, take take your tactical pants to a tailor and have them turn them into shorts, you can have the length you want. Mike likes eleven inch inseam, I like them a little longer at thirteen inches. Carry knee pads in your EDC or BO bag if the SHTF while you're wearing shorts.

Hey man, I feel ya about designing a good pair of shorts or pants. I've reached out to several companies and they either don't respond or make me send my resume, then don't respond. But I guess a product designer doesn't count because I'm not an 'operator'. Anyhow, I'll help design some pants if you get anyone to respond. I've got some ideas I haven't seen so far. I don't understand why it's so hard to make stuff that makes sense. lol

Joylessburrito 8 I’m skinny. I wear 32 waist, but I fit into a lot of 30 waist clothes so I’m really a “31” waist. I just buy my usual waist size and the pants stretch a little. I always wear a belt so it’s never an issue.

I still use it most of the time. I just had a full-size sharpie in my pocket because I had been working on some projects that day.

5.11 make there shorts too dam short. As a 6'5 1/2 my only option for shorts is Rothcos longer style BDU shorts. I may try to cut my tactile pants into shorts. I like my shorts to be below the knee.

Im not sure how i feel about what i just watched for the duration of my break.🙆🙆😁😂

Just cut your delta stretch pants from vertx. Easily become the best tactical shorts.

5.11 Shorts always look like they are made for an old man. Always cut too short in the length. My solution has been to take their regular Tac-lite pants, or stryke pants and have them cut off and hemmed.

I agree. I like my shorts to come below my knee. After trying lots of shorts, i ended up with lapg operator shorts w/ 11” inseam. Closest to perfect length i could find.

gtslow7 I have a pair of those and don't like that length at all. For me, the LAPG Elite Operator shorts are a perfect 10". I've tried on some 5.11 9 1/2" shorts, those are perfect for me.

i know what u mean, but i think that's mostly the way they model them. When you put them on a normal person like mike, they seem to look way more standard than they do on their online pics.

Seem tight around legs

Should’ve ended the video with 1 minute of uninterrupted eye contact. So it’d be less awkward.

Last few 5.11 pants I had faded within a few months. Whatever dyes or process they are using sucks.

raphael beinhauer Had two of the midnight navy class A tac poly cotton and the black urban lite tac(?). In a couple months all of them lost color around the belt loops and pockets.

I've used the class A pants for work for years and never had this problem. The fading is a new thing.

John Space I'm guessing you mean the Fast-tac Urban pants. I wonder if this is going to happen on all new runs of pants or only some models. My black pants (Stryke and Ridgeline) are both from last year and have been worn alot, nothing on them yet, I will see how my battle brown apex pants hold up, bought them 4 weeks ago. Did you notice the fading after washcycles or just with wear? Also, is it a uniform fading or only some areas/ spots. Try contacting 5.11 to see what they say about it.
