No heater box. I did the same but I cut the corner out of the heater box to make room for the valve cover. Put a piece of tin over the hole. Nice lil truck. Thanks for sharing

Nice Ranger, it is in great shape, and they were tough trucks. I owned two Explorer Sports, 2 door models, and loved them. I knew the Mercury Mountaineer had 302's in them, so I knew the 302 would fit in the Rangers and Explorers. . Anyway, whoever owned this truck took good care of it. Interesting old Ranger.

Thanks for taking a look my friend. Yeah, the Mountaineer actually had one of the best 302's too, with the Cobra style intake and heads.

@@RamblinAround Thanks Jeff, I wasn't aware of that . They made a 2 wheel drive model which would have been a great sleeper with that Mustang engine. I bought repo's at that time, and paid $4900 for the '98, and the owner still owed $14,000 on it. I drove it 5 years and sold it for more than I paid.

Love this truck. The seats look great in there. Same Grant steering wheel that was on mine when I first dragged it out of someone's back yard hahaha

I honestly did expect it to still be fuel-injected, I was surprised it was carbed.

Was my first truck. Same year same color NOT the same engine lol

86 comes from factory with 302 I got one in 86

Other than a concept truck, I don't think Ford ever put a factory V8 in the Ranger.

@@RamblinAround I bought it in Adel Georga on the show room floor Ford dealer ship live in rockford I'll now close buy. I will see if wife still has paper work tucked away building my 69 CHEVELLE now got so mutch paper work I have to find it will let you know as soon as I can p.s love the gto
