    Hi nate the main reason you use dig mode is when you get to a tight turning point that you cant get rnd with just normal steering you put dig mode on and turn yr steering in whatever direction you wanna go and ease on the throttle and it just swings yr front end round alot tighter than normal steer hope that helps 👍👍

    SUPER COOL 😎 CAPRA!! I could use a Dig Mode button from time to time! Every video of yours where a "secret button" has been involved, you've said the same thing and I think "well, they've got it NOW ... Then SURPRISE, THEY DON'T GOT IT!! Thanks Saylors for being normal and admitting it!! Can't wait to see what's next!! 💟👍😘

    Dig is for steep downhill some climbing and tight turns. Best upgrades are metal wheels and a little bit of weight on the front down low(brass portal covers).

  • @miker1473
    @miker14734 жыл бұрын

    Dig is for "pulling" the front end around in a spot where you don't have room to back up, to get another bite at it. The advantages of the Capra can quickly become disadvantages. The width can be a plus, or detrimental....depends on the spot you're in. Another advantage, that can be a detrimental, is the exposed wheels. Thay can get hooked under rocks, or in your example, the root. With better tires, you could have walked it up on the root. But, if it was a deep rock cut, where the tire was "inside" the obstacle, you just get jammed under it. It's a specialty vehicle. I was surprised you two didn't think more highly of the trx4 sport. IMO, it's the most capable, budget priced, all around, crawler...straight out of the box. The Capra is sweet though...just top heavy. Need to tune the suspension for some droop, to get it more well planted. Glad you finally got the tires dirty, though. Keep up the good job of showing us so many vehicles.

    If you activate dig mode, then turn the wheels and apply power, the truck will pivot on it's inside rear wheel. It's used to adjust your line while crawling in a tight spot. I just added dig to my Axial SCX10 III this week. It's pretty cool to watch it work.

    Well Abby, as you said it I think Nate was working on taking the tree out 😁 You guys should do someone trail runs again! The places y'all go and find look great, full of beautiful scenery. As I understand itfrom Aaron from RC SPARKS, that dig or lock mode as scooting. Instead of the tires spinning and moving the vehicle, you only move/pivot the front in this case. I would like to, but I couldn't afford something this much. Love the look/ style of this though.

    Abby didn't roll off the root because of DIG. LoL, back tires were still driving and caused it to wheelie over. DIG is very handy for tightening up turning radius around obstacles and for tight steep climbs like that one. If you have a Tx/Rx like the FSGT5, you can do another little trick with the Axial DIG transmission. Put the DIG servo on a three position switch. Adjust the center point so it holds the linkage at the point where the rear drive is disconnected from the output, but not locked. Then adjust your endpoints to get full locked and normal drive. Now you can have four wheel drive, front wheel drive to pull you over steep stuff without the rear being locked, and DIG for tight turns. Looking for another bouncer? I just got an Axial Bomber 2.0. Fun, but way to slow. Swapped in a 3500Kv BL system to get it moving. And you'll have to replace the rubber steering and drag link if you like to have both front tires turning the same direction.

I've watched him use that lockout mode to help him be able to "walk" the front of a truck left/right when the trail calls for it. He has a ton of vids that border on 'how to' or kind of like a guide. Wow! That's pretty crazy. Surprised they've kept that name in today's world. While it is a hobby mainly enjoyed by men, a lot if women are kept from enjoying this hobby because if the stereotype associated with it. We would love to see even more women involved in all of RC. -Nate

    TheRcSaylors I totally agree with that Nate! They have kept that name for almost 16 years now. It’s locally owned by a husband and wife! I hate that people say stuff like that because even if you are a girl, it doesn’t mean that you can’t be heavily involved in this hobby! It’s so addicting!

    Talking about kids situations, i have a niece who has 2 special needs littles (ages 2&3yr olds) . I feel for them cos they live in cali,in L.A. county where it is the hardest hit county in state. And she anb hubby both need a break away and need to go. To the point some have suggested them do social disobedience and go out to a lesser known park like woods area. 👻🤠😂🥳

    Why is it that brushed motors are so ubiquitous in trail/climber RCs? With my Arrma Granite 4x4 Mega MT I went through 5 brushed motors before wising up and converting to a mild brushless system. Turned the Mega into an awesome vehicle and haven't had a single motor or ESC issue in over a year. Wouldn't brushless be better for the crawlers and trailers? What am I missing?

    Brushed motors run better at lower RPMs and provide a much higher torque at low ends, which is why crawler guys and gals love them so much. In the proper circumstances a brushed motor can run for years and years. Bashers tend to lean toward Brushless for the very reasons you discussed in your comment. Hope this helps a little 😃👍⚓😎
