4th Gen Pontiac Trans Am McNord Gauge Overlay Installation
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I put together a video of me installing my gauge overlay from McNordGauges.com on my '99 Trans Am. They make awesome quality overlays and have almost unlimited design possibilities. I made this video for a couple friends. It took roughly an hour to complete. I didn't have any problems. I missed a couple photos for a few steps, but there are some good write ups online. Just do some searching and you 'll find some good installation photos. I want to give a special thanks to McNordGauges for producing such a great product! The staff was very friendly and it was built and shipped to me pretty fast.

Awesome song, awesome car.
Looks great dude, way better than the stock cluster. Thumbs up!!!
It looks awesome!!!
Cool. I'm going on the website now to check out some for my TA
bro you have the sickest mods for you TA
Thanks. It's a site called McnordGauges. Check out thier gallery and see all the options they have drawn up, or you can customize yourown on thier editor.
wow. I had no idea it was that easy. 4 screws and the steering height adjuster and bamm, she comes right out. I'm bout to do mine cause I think the solid state's fried in my instrument cluster. oh it was something I did with wiring a while back. I fixed the circuits now but my gauge is still messed up. Gonna put in a new cluster assembly and this overlay while I'm at it. BTW, The old gauge is the original for the original V6 engine. had a swap in 2010 so I got a V8 gauge now.
Good deal man...thanks for the info!!
yep, they can do just about anything with them.
awesome :D
Thanks. Nope, I didn't have to change the lighting at all.
Wow, really nice. Did you have to change the lighting at all and if you did did it come with the gauge face?
forgot to say...actually it's not carbon fiber. It's the turned metal effect the old 1970-1981 Trans Ams used to have. I was going for a retro look. :)
Does your oil temp gauge move down when you stop? Cause mine does Idk if its the same on all other firebirds/trans am
Has anyone tried to replace the original with an 80s style digital ?
Looks nice I'm doing my Knight rider replica and I have a piece that the end connector looks like computer hard drive connector. Was wondering if you knew behind the gauges where it goes?

Ruby Stan Sorry, no I don't
That's Badass Jason!!! Where did you get the overlay?
Nice man. Can u get these without the carbon fibre looking stuff?
The ghost "bird" in the background is cool but the engine turned effect doesn't do it for me on anything but a second gen bird. Still, I can appreciate the work. Probably not a bad time to freshen up those cluster bulbs while it's out or even swap to LED.
I looked at this video just to see how to get it apart my cluster looks like crap because someone put one of these in and left wrinkles
Do u know wat the normal temp should be at

@@isiahdatruth 6LE sold to maggperformance and they don't offer the overlays. Blackcatcustom does sell guage overlays. I just bought a set for my 2001 TA.

@@1999TransAmWS6 thanks for the info. I'll check it out.
The oil pressure gauge will go down a bit when stopping but not the oil temp. For oil pressure, as long as you have 10psi for every 1000rpms, you should be fine.
