4th Gen Pontiac Trans Am McNord Gauge Overlay Installation

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I put together a video of me installing my gauge overlay from McNordGauges.com on my '99 Trans Am. They make awesome quality overlays and have almost unlimited design possibilities. I made this video for a couple friends. It took roughly an hour to complete. I didn't have any problems. I missed a couple photos for a few steps, but there are some good write ups online. Just do some searching and you 'll find some good installation photos. I want to give a special thanks to McNordGauges for producing such a great product! The staff was very friendly and it was built and shipped to me pretty fast.

wow. I had no idea it was that easy. 4 screws and the steering height adjuster and bamm, she comes right out. I'm bout to do mine cause I think the solid state's fried in my instrument cluster. oh it was something I did with wiring a while back. I fixed the circuits now but my gauge is still messed up. Gonna put in a new cluster assembly and this overlay while I'm at it. BTW, The old gauge is the original for the original V6 engine. had a swap in 2010 so I got a V8 gauge now.

Wow, really nice. Did you have to change the lighting at all and if you did did it come with the gauge face?

forgot to say...actually it's not carbon fiber. It's the turned metal effect the old 1970-1981 Trans Ams used to have. I was going for a retro look. :)

Looks nice I'm doing my Knight rider replica and I have a piece that the end connector looks like computer hard drive connector. Was wondering if you knew behind the gauges where it goes?

The ghost "bird" in the background is cool but the engine turned effect doesn't do it for me on anything but a second gen bird. Still, I can appreciate the work. Probably not a bad time to freshen up those cluster bulbs while it's out or even swap to LED.

The oil pressure gauge will go down a bit when stopping but not the oil temp. For oil pressure, as long as you have 10psi for every 1000rpms, you should be fine.
