Thanks Hiram, I actually found one leaking (input drum shaft) on the 60 I am building now. I have the same blow gun and put the tip through the exit hole inside the drum (all the pistons were out) for 3/4 then blocked the apply hole in the shaft. I used brake clean in the bearing/shim pocket and then applied pressure. Only tiny bubbles but have been told that can get worse with temperature. Going to press the shaft out and reseal tomorrow. This is just what I needed to see.

Thanks for all the good knowledge. I have a question please. If I buy a 4l60e kit for a 2002 gmc will it fit a 2002 4l65e? Seals, clutches, I know that input shaft is different but are all the other parts the same. Thank you.

Great video! Do you have any videos explaining how to do the repair? Where do you apply the jb weld and how much? Is it on the shaft in the area that goes into the drum and is right above the holes that go into the drum?

Look for the P1870 video I have on the channel. There's 2, one early and one late. Yours is the late. Do the valve flip to make it on/off instead of PWM. If shudder goes away you'll be okay. If still there then converter clutch is already gone. Which is normal wear and tear.

Good video Hiram! I like to see how others do things. It doesn't matter how long you've been at it. You never know what you might pick up. The only thing I disagree with. Is I would never use that drum that had the big leak in it. Sealing on a bench with JB weld is quite different that a drum is under a constant torque load. Although it work out just fine. That is a risk I would be wiling to take. Drums are cheaper than comebacks. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, that drum I probably won't use. The replacement drum looked a little gray but wasn't leaking. I still do the same procedure eventhoug the drums don't leak.I used to use red loctite but opted to use JB Weld instead. The JB Quick also works but not too fond of it. At least not for this.
