山門には日本一の大きさを誇る石造りの仁王様に出会えます。山門をくぐり、約三百段の石段を登った先に観音堂があります。
At the mountain gate, you can encounter the largest stone Nio statues in Japan. After passing through the gate and climbing about 300 stone steps, you will arrive at the Kannon Hall.
観音堂の背後には巨大な岩壁が覆い被さるように聳え立っています。是非、ご自身の目でご覧頂きたい光景の一つです。
Behind the Kannon Hall stands a huge rock wall towering over it. It is a sight you should definitely see with your own eyes.
観音堂の左手には聖浄の滝があります。滝壺のそばには「不動明王」が立っています。落差は約30メートルだそうです。
To the left of the Kannon-do Hall is the SeijoFalls. A statue of Acala stands next to the pool of the waterfall. The waterfall is about 30 meters high.
滝の左手の岩場にある鷲窟磨崖仏は弘法大師が一夜にして彫ったと伝えられています。
The Syuukutsu-magai-butsu on the rock to the left of the waterfall is said to have been carved by Kobo Daishi in one night.
西奥の院は岩の崩落、落石の恐れがあるため、現在は立ち入り禁止となっています。
東奥の院は一部撮影しております。
Entry to the Nishi-Okunoin(the western inner sanctuary) is currently prohibited due to the risk of rock collapse and falling rocks.
Some parts of the eastern inner sanctuary have been photographed.
観音院から法性寺への道のりは大日峠を越える江戸巡礼古道を進みました。
大日峠を越える場合は山道を1時間半ほど歩くことになり、秩父巡礼の中では二番目に大変な難所と言われています。
装備をしっかりとご準備の上、ご自身の体力などを考慮し、場合によっては迂回ルートを選択するなどして、
安全に楽しみながらお参りできますよう、当動画がご参考になれば幸いです。
On the way from Kannon-in to Housyou-ji, I walked along the Old Edo Pilgrimage Road that crosses Dainichi Pass.
Crossing Dainichi Pass requires walking along a mountain path for about an hour and a half, and is said to be the second most difficult part of the Chichibu pilgrimage.
Please be sure to prepare well and take into consideration your own physical strength and choose a detour if necessary.
