Today I want to share with you this wonderful one-day excursion with Donato Cusini, owner of the Hotel Amerikan in Livigno (in the province of Sondrio, Italy).
Livigno is not only to be considered for shopping and skiing, but it can also be an interesting destination for those who want to make excursions that are not too demanding, but still immersed in suggestive landscapes.
It starts from the valley station of the Carosello 3000 cable car, in the hamlet of San Rocco di Livigno: from the cabin you can admire the surrounding landscape, but it is very little compared to what you will see upstream, when you start your walk.
At the mountain station continue towards Lac Salin, which you will see when you exit to your left, heading south. Continue along the driveway uphill until you reach the Federia chairlift, which operates only in winter. Pass by the station and continue first downhill and then uphill until the driveway becomes a normal mountain path for hikers.
The path from this point is very easy, well maintained and not very tiring, as it gradually climbs up to skirt the Pizzo Cantone: before the path opens to a large meadow, on the left you will find a promontory from which you can admire the whole valley. of Livigno and where you can take beautiful photos.
Continue along the path through a verdant summit and after a short descent the path will continue to rise again, always with a not too strenuous slope: from here in about twenty minutes you will reach the summit of Monte delle Rezze where you will find the statue of the Madonna del Relief (Madonon in local dialect). There is also a small bivouac nearby.
The Involt da li Rèśa bivouac is located five minutes from the top of Mònt da li Rèśa (Monte delle Rezze, 2858 meters) and was built by the Alpine troops in 1999. It's a building made with local stones, with a vaulted ceiling, surrounded and covered by other stones except for the facade alone.
