Let`s walk together to the Hambach surface mine in North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany to see the big bucket wheel excavators in action. The area of the surface mine is huge and can be well overlooked from the viewing platform Terra Nova. Well worth a stop if you are in a nearby neighborhood. Don`t forget to bring your binocular to have a better look of the bucket wheel excavators. They are massive but appear so small inside the giant surface mine. I had to use my telephoto lens to catch them on video. Enjoy !
