Spent many happy holidays during the1970’s - 1980’ s with my children and relations . Lovely to see tround it and reminisce happy memories . Now aged 84 son 57 daughter passed away in 2006 aged 43

Wow-thanks for this. Takes me back to my uni days 1996-1999. Very happy memories. Of course we walked or cycled everywhere so used to be able to climb the cliff by the side of Olympia leisure to get to the shops rather than drive round.

Magic moments used too play tennis on top of the clffs over looking the sea and the pirates fighting ships and the red lion pub when I was 18 of course I'm 60 now great memory's thank you

We live near Bridlington so we go to Scarborough quite often. I recognised everywhere you went, though I've not done the bit through the town centre (01:00 to 03:30) as much as Marine Drive. As we go past, we always say hello to "Mr Scarborough" (as we call him), the larger-than-life sculpture of an old man on a bench, looking out to sea (beyond the litter bin at 05:10). The cobbles at 06:40 are a confounded nuisance: I wish they'd remove them. I see you filmed it before last autumn when the Big Wheel was removed for the winter (10:40). To help people get their bearings, the roundabout at about 12:45 is the same one that he went round at 0:10, although he approaches it from a different direction.

Indeed, this drive started and finished at the same roundabout. I’ve been hoping to get back to film some more in Scarborough, but been so busy. Hopefully soon. Glad you enjoyed the video.

had a few family seaside holidays there when i was a child, 1960s. Im sure i remember a Lido there (walled in swimming area in the sea), but no sign of it now, did they demolish it.

Scarborough holds so many memories for me too. The Lido became a large flattened area south of the Spa, now part of the sea wall walk.

We came to Yorkshire for a holiday way back in 1993. That right turn off at 9:05 is where we'd turn off for our holiday house in Graham Close so we'd be overlooking the South Bay. I've only just discovered the Luna Park at 7:58 doesn't have the wheel anymore. And now there's a new wheel further along at 10:00. Was this done for weather and safety reasons? Looks weird seeing Luna Park without a wheel now, especially as we used to be able to see it from our holiday house.

Not sure when the Luna Park wheel went. The current wheel is on the site of the old Futurist building. An open space has been made for the wheel and a crazy golf course in the summer season. Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed the video.

Special place to go when I was a lad 👦 👌

Newborough does not go all the way to the seafront! Top oof Newborough is Westborough and below Newborough is Eastborough, leading to to the Old Town

As interesting as watching a film when the TV is broken.
