I am 85 years old and I have just sold my kayak. It is the end of an era for me and it makes me sad. It became too difficult to load on top of car, unload, haul to the put-in and then getting in and out of the boat became difficult, much as I hate to admit. I love this video more than any of your other beautiful ones. I enjoy them all but this is my favorite. I'm back in my kayak, enjoying the very essence of being on the quiet water, listening to the sounds of nature, the water, smelling the air and looking at the sky. Thanks for making this unique and peaceful video.

We are playing this video to my beloved father as he takes his last breaths. He kayaked along the shorelines of Nova Scotia, Canada for 33 years, and was a keen birder. He was brought up in Ireland and England, so the sounds of the cuckoos and chaffinches are very familiar. Thank you so much for recording and posting this video.

I went out today in Aruba 8 kayak.So peaceful.I talked to God.I feel like I’m in another place although I’ve always been here and just never took in the beauty.Like an awakening.Kayaking is something quite special.

I don't really like swimming, but that doesn't stop me from canoeing. Always wear a PFD.

I could not swim until the age of 44. Then, I decided I was going to change it. Took a couple of lessons, it is not complicated, you can learn basics in literally, 20 minutes. And 80 % of the fear will be gone. I am not a professional swimmer but can swim some now and it's a pleasure. Try to take some lessons, it is NOT difficult and will give you lots of cool time.

These non-loop videos are the best! It's probably not that easy to produce but damn, it's a fine result. Best regards from Romania, neighbor! :)

The calming and soothing sounds emanating from river kayaking is VERY underrated ! I used to enjoy the early morning awakenings with the calls of the varied bird species commonly found while paddling. It simultaneously calms AND rejuvenates one - sort of a "re-charge" for the impending rat race.

Wish I was there canoeing too. I watch this every morning for about 2 hours as my morning meditation. I am imagining living with this river in my backyard. It reminds me of home in Nova Scotia. I miss the water. Thanks for treading gently on the river for all of us to enjoy. I see alot of animals, insects and birds in silhouette in the trees. I notice a different one each time I watch. So cool.

I came across this while looking for something to calm me after my blood pressure ran up extremely high on me. It was so calming. The sounds along with a river that looked like glass so much so that you couldn't tell which way the river was bending ahead, was perfect for relaxing. Thank you & great job on this video.

I watched this video while using my rowing machine. Wonderful, time flew by. I like the scenery here because it’s a small-scale wilderness, no mighty peaks or sweeping vistas, nothing overwhelming. No - there is an intimacy here, that draws you in. I like that we see a mixed broadleaf and conifer forest, and fields of green reeds. To me it looks like a child’s conception of a magical wood. Best of all - no mosquitoes. .

Thank you for this, it has been over 10 yrs since I kayaked on the AuSable River , in northern Michigan, it runs from Grayling , to the mouth of one of the Great Lakes, Lake Huron with tributaries to explore. Its my favorite place on earth.

I've been kayaking 30 yrs. and love the peace and quiet. My favorite thing to do in a kayak is fishing in a beaver dam on a warm summer day.

Couldn't agree more with all the comments. This is my favourite too. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 53 and replaced medication with this and other nature videos (and nature walks) when I discovered the benefit you get from being in nature or listening to nature sounds. What's great about this video is the changing scenery and the beautiful unspoilt mature woodland on both sides of the river that provide habitat for all the wonderful birds that provide the soundtrack, and reflect so beautifully in the mirror calm water and even the sound of the paddle in the water is soothing. The speed of the progress is just right too and the superb HD quality of this video makes it the closest thing to feeling like your actually there. I love the location and hope one day I can do this trip.

I started kayaking last year. One of the best hobbies I ever had!

Now, this is something I could fall asleep too. I would love to do this some day. Get up early in the morning and just Kayak alone just surrounded by the wilderness

This was awesome for falling asleep to. Dont know if anyone else would like it but you know what else would be cool? The same type of view from a horse drawn buggy. I love the sound of their hooves and the view of the countryside slipping by and watching their ears and tail would be relaxing to a horse lover like me. Especially with a little soft bird song tossed in.

Dear Lucinda, as others have mentioned, there are ways to still kayak even if health conditions do not allow one to use a standard kayak. I have seen inflatable kayaks that are VERY sturdy, and if one is not whitewater kayaking but just paddling lakes, slow rivers and mild surf, they can be an excellent choice. There are also inflatable paddle boards that are remarkably sturdy and versatile. You can sit on it, kneel on it, stand on it, lay down on it. I do understand your situation and it is one that we all will face. For me the end of the era was giving up skiing and horseback riding. I hope you will choose to find something else to replace those activities. Bless you! Like you, I too find Silent Watcher's videos to be the best on KZread.
