Peñíscola is a town in the Spanish province of Castellón, in the north of the Valencia region. The old town is situated on a rock 64 meters above the sea. The center of the old town is a fortified castle (citadel) from the 14th century. In contrast to the old town are the newly built streets and avenues of the tourist district.
