(Ok, just realised I typo-ed Montmartre throughout the video :\ sorryyyy)
I moved to France mid-2022, but finally gave into living in Paris to properly connect with communities for both work and pleasure.
In these first weeks, so much happened everyday. Life can be so poetic, then bam. A number. A bad government website. Something you didn’t know you needed to look up.
But also, these shapeless days between Christmas and New Year's can be so quaint and expectant of nothing.
I'm feeling good now, in my new home, looking forward to rhythms, new relationships, and Spring around the corner.
PS We used Lodgis for our short term rental in Montemartre, then Gens de Confiance for the long term rental in Bois-Colombes (paying 820 euros a month for 19m2 all expenses included).

Beautiful and dreamy. The reality was needed. I hope you continue to feel comfortable in your new space! France is a challenge for French people. Especially, living in Paris. I might live there eventually, but my Californian personality needs a place that’s a bit more cozy, yet urban. I do love Marseille! Hehe! I have 2 nephews born and raised in France. I don’t have kids, and they’ve informed me, I’ll need to live with one of them, when I’m old. Sweet, yet bossy (bossiness runs in my family, so it’s not so foreign). 😉

💗💗💗 thankyou! I absolutely adore Marseille too... felt like it was worth it to give Paris a few years and see if it sticks. Bois-Colombes defs gives me more of a laid back Melbourne/Australian feel of village life seperate from the city which I was craving. Thankful to have found it bc I think I would have resented Paris living inside it! Maybe I will meet you in the south once we both hit retirement age as cool childless aunties!

This is a case where art is more beautiful than life for me. Better to watch this film than be in Paris

I feel the same. Sometimes it’s very soothing to visit the visuals without the other pressing stressors (crowds, transport, time limits, forking out money) from the day.
