I was fortunate to attend a High Tea at the Palm Court in 1975 when the entire room was filled with well dressed attendees, and the court was lush with tall palm plants. Yet, still happy to see the old Dame still looking polished. Enrico Caruso after appearing at the San Francisco Opera was awakened the next morning at 5:16am of April 18, 1906 by the San Francisco earthquake! He made it out of the City and vowed never to return; he never did!

Just beautiful, I loved the ornate chandeliers, wouldn't want to clean them tho.

NICE not much talked about despite the historicity. Overshadowed by the F, the MH, the St F, the Drake. Is MH kinda closed or under renovation ? Idle rich having departed the city ?

Beautiful building, I'd change the rug in the lounge though. The colour and pattern clashes with the ornate interior too much.
