Agree. And, it's not a real bookstore if it doesn't have "Alice in Wonderland". Btw, Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) as a Boolean mathematician contributed to computer logic.

I never realized Columbia had such a beautiful campus. The older buildings were magnificent! Thanks for another fantastic walk.

Wow, it's very impressive how these many different buildings fit together in perfect harmony to form a large, respectful whole. It must be great to study in a special place like this. Aha! You found the Alma Mater Owl! 🦉 This was a great walk around beautiful Columbia University! Your attention to detail in these walks always astounds me.😊 My second visit to NYC (almost 30 years ago) was concentrated in Morningside Heights: I have wonderful memories of this neighborhood. Thanks for the bookstore visit: independent bookstores are the best! Watching your walks are virtual treasures. I look forward to the second part of the stroll my beautiful friend!🤗

Yet, another amazing video. *Thanks* You have a knack for finding secluded places around, behind, buildings to sit and read ( ... "Alice in Wonderland"). *Cerulean Blue* is a very popular if not the most popular color around the world.* Mo' cerulean blue skies. My unasked for opinion: a clear winter day also helps to articulate the cool shadows and warm sunlight colors. Say, in comparsion to a dog day Manhattan late afternoon dusk with the low setting sun filtering through the pollution weighting on one's shoulders on home from work. * "Paint by Numbers" Komar & Melamid's book on what people like in paintings.

In response to Tony Ma's comment on the similarity between Columbia's rotunda, lead photo, and UNC's "Temple of Love" came across the Temple of Luv in *Untmyer Park and Gardens* 945 N. Broadway, NW Yonkers. Might be a tour for you ... no-a forget da cerulean blue skies. pointing the camera up from under the flowers or tree canopy towards the sunlight makes for some nice shots (But, into the sun for too long might damage the camera chip)

Thanks, Alice. But I would have begun the video from down under in the 116th Street Subway station. Columbia College -- class of 1983. Watching this video made me appreciate how many college students find Columbia something of an isolated and lonely place and end up not being happy there. Of course the campus is a "softer and gentler" place since women were admitted in the mid-80s, but still there is a lot of IMPERSONALITY experienced with being thrust into the big, bad city. The remedy, for me at least, was to dive deep, deep, deep into the intellectual life offered by one's classes -- especially the Core-Curriculum humanities offerings. Also: to dive deep into NY City itself as a well-spring of culture, history, and the arts and music. One really needs to grab the bull by the horns to make the most of four years of college there. It's all on a platter but it is definitely SELF-SERVICE!

Alice, Tony Ma, The circular rotunda structure is a Renaissance styled *tempietto* pavilion or small temple memorial for John William Amringe former Dean of Columbia University. It is located in the campus' SE corner at Amsterdam Ave. & W 115st., between Hartley Hall and Wallach Hall just north of John Jay Dining Hall. The UNC "Temple of Love" well designed by Eugene Lewis Harris, UNC alumnus, has eight columns while Columbia's has ten. Other than that, dunno While Columbia University built on the site of the old Boomingdales Insane Asylum has a network of tunnels, no well. The bust is by the sculptor *William Ordway Partridge* , Columbia alumnus, who also made the Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton statues and sundial on campus in the video.
