I gotta say, I never liked the mars light on 765, but your video just made me a fan of it. Great video!

They need to get that whistle over to Rizzoli and get her fixed up. I think that's 765's original whistle too.

The whistle has a squeaking quality in this video because the bell, or top part, is rotated a certain way inside the shield, causing the steam to hit the chimes differently. This is the cause of all of the different "tunings" this whistle has had over its long career. The whistle originates from No. 700 and has been on the engine since 1979; the original was damaged by an attempted air test in the park display.

It wasn't cracked. It was just tuned differently. After this weekend they got the whistle retuned to the 80's/90's tuning allow the 6th Chime of the Nathan 6-Chime to really be prominent.
