Personally, I dig the filter a lot. That's how Yoji Shinkawa wanted it. I do like that we're having these conversations, though.

The brown filter was a disaster for 7th gen games. I like this more, less dull looking.

Depend how it's used. I think a lot of the atmosphere is lost if you remove that tint from MGS4 or Killzone 2. But then the blue-tint from BF3 was awful.

You can tell the asset colors are oversaturated so they don't get totally washed out with the postprocess filter.

Honestly the first time I’ve played MGS4 i really felt like this is what games are going to look like now. MGS4 looks like a damn near early PS5 game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Delta surpasses everything in the industry and holds up for years to come.

It almost looks like MGS2, wtf. I wouldn't say it comes together tho. It was made with the filter in mind, so without it alot of the art just get's lost and is plain.

@@LLRTV you just finished? whats your secret man i've nearly tried every way in rpcs3 and i can get solid 60 fps no problem gameplay until for some reason some spesific things just crash the game :( idk how to solve them but i've avoided most crashes just by not looking at them next time, for example there was a scripted explosion happening in middle east first mission, i just didnt look at it and i was fine after that im nearly %50 done with this tactic

@@LLRTV just tried it, it really did relax my game a lot and i didnt crash for a long time until game decides to randomly crash out of nothing :D but still thx for the settings!

You are very welcome, hopefully you get it working soon , I do remember talking to another viewer about the different game versions and updates and he was able to make it work with the anniversary edition of the game . I wouldn't know were to find it but he did mention that he was having similar issues to what you are having.

You should have a before and after portion in a future video. Maybe instead of the video ending, the cutscene plays again and you do half of the screen with the filter?

@@LLRTV Out of Curiosity, which version of the game are you using, I am using NPUB31633 and BLUS30109 and they both have the audio issue, if you are using one of those two then I am sure its my pc giving me the issue, I'm getting the 25th Anniversary version as a last ditch effort to see if I can fix the issue

Unfortunately its Only for the Original Version of Substance, they removed it from GOG sadly

the metal gear animations work is the best in the industry...they way the characters move is still very good nowdays.

Man, they really need to put this in the 2nd collection, and give us unlock frame plus 4k. I've beaten this on RPCS3 before but it crashed a lot, I had to constantly use save states, and it just wasn't very ideal to go through.

I have low end PC that would propadly wont be able to decently run MGS 3, MGS 4 would melt like RBMK during Dyatlov shift, and second platform i have Is PS5. With MGS master collection I have every metal Gear available. Which makes MGS 4 most wanted a best MGS game to enjoy right now.

He didn't make this, it's an option under the patches menu for RPCS3. They're known for claiming things that they didn't make as their own (such as the MGS1 over the shoulder camera GameShark code.) At the top of RPCS3 -> Click Manage -> Patches -> Download Patches -> enable remove color filters.
