On weekends and Sundays, I walk along Gyeongpo Beach in the East Sea.
The East Sea of Korea is famous for its clear and clean water.
The weather was so nice that we walked along the beautiful emerald-colored beach. It was hard in hot weather
Still, it seems to be healing.
Gyeongpo Beach is a large and beautiful beach located between the East Sea and Gyeongpo Lake, 2 hours away from Gangnam, Seoul. Locals and foreign tourists alike visit this place all year round to admire the picturesque sunrise, moon and pine forests on the sea, take great photos, swim in the sea, and look for restaurants. They also enjoy summer vacation by visiting Seongyojang or Ojukheon, which are nearby tourist spots.

Gyeongpo Beach (鏡浦海水浴場) is a beach located in Anhyeon - dong , Gangneung- si , Gangwon- do. The total area of the sandy beach is 144,000 m 2 , the length is 1.8 km, and the width is 80 m.
Gyeongpo Beach is the largest beach on the East Coast, located in Gangmun-dong and Anhyeon-dong, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do. During the summer season, an average of 500,000 people a day flock to the resort. The slope is gentle, the water quality is clean, and the sand quality is fine. The Gyeongpo Beach area was designated as a provincial park in June 1982.

아무리 생각해도 어처구니 없네 정작 자국인인 우리나라 사람들은 이 땡볕과 무더위속에서 심지어는 해변에서 물놀이 하는데도 대부분은 마스크 쓰고 있고 마스크 안쓰고 자유롭게 놀고있는 사람은 보면 거의 외국인이네 제재나 제한을 안하려면 똑같이 안하든가 하려면 똑같이 하든가

@@peterk6431 We get about a week or 2 of snow but most years its not very strong or heavy snow in low lying areas. Yea Korea rains and is misty a lot typically on here it always seems to be raining when it is in Ireland.

I'm very curious about swimming culture for women in S.Korea: as we can see women don't swim, don't tan and don't wear bikini. Is this because they are trying to keep their skin white? Or there are some kind of strict rules and a woman in a bikini are looked at with dissaproval in Korean society? I don't like tanning too and when on a beach I always seat under the umbrella with sunscrean on my skin. This way I stay compleatly white all summer)))) But I do not deny myself the pleasure of splashing in the water.

1. girls don't swim because their hair and make up get messy 2. Koreans don't like showing their skin in public including men. if foreign men run around without shirt, people might call cops. there are actually some foreigners who really expericened this. but, if in a hotel swimming pool, girls wear bikini. 3.for skin? sure. but not for white. it's for anti-aging of skin.

It has nothing to do with pointing out particularly 'women' in korean swimming culture. There is absolutely 'no rule' for swimming at the beach. You are allowed to wear swimsuit, bikini or whatever besides being naked. You are just free and nobody cares what you wear. Korean people don't usually like to be tanned because we think brighter skin looks better for traditional preference and it's also anti-aging for avoiding ultraviolet rays. So the people just cover their skin on the beach whenever they are in the water or not. There is no men and women stuff here. Lately, tanning industry is getting bigger and bigger since people work out a lot. So you can see many people who have tanned skin.

I am amazed by what I see in this video. Not only does almost everyone swim in their clothes, but they also wear masked, including children when swimming !! On top of that, they enter the beach after being badged and after putting gel on their hands, which is completely ridiculous. And all this while South Korea is one of the countries that has vaccinated the most! This population is caught in a technocratic dictatorship and they don't even realize it. It's incredible. How can children play and enjoy themselves fully on the beach without being able to breathefreely the fresh ocean air and while wearing a wet and salty mask that irritates their nose, mouth and face? I think they have been America's guinea pigs since the American military intervened in the Korean War because you don't see this kind of nonsense in other countries in the region, including communist China. This is what some leaders of other countries dream of doing with their people, especially in the European community. Now I understand why they kept giving us Korea as an example since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis
