My family decided to move to Orange county back in 1965, from Ohio. Remember walking on that pier and the water was so blue. Never seen the ocean before.😊

I haven't been to Huntington Beach since 2007 but man, it's one beautiful place! I love the vibe of it ... you can just do your own thing and no one cares.

I grew up in Westminster. Lived there from 1959 to 1967. Went to HB dozens of times. Great memories !

If you drive back down Maine make a right on Orange...Orange turns into Atlanta that’s where my house is....I love Huntington Beach California my hometown

...thanks for sharing..was just there last week...so beautiful..and now home to new condos and homes..and to think that years ago there were rows and rows of wooden oil derricks up and down the sandy beach..and trolley train tracks all the way from downtown LA to Newport Beach harbor.. ending right near the Pavilion...

Henry, I am very sad for what happened to California and our people. I am European, and I know it must have been like living a dream back then with these beaches full of beautiful blue-eyed blondes. I cant imagine the beauty and safety of walking around back then. One day we'll have something like that again, somewhere. I hope to give my children the opportunity to feel at home like that

I seen the Eagles and Linda Ronstadt play at a small bar called The Golden Bear back in 1971ish on Pacific Coast Highway just a few blocks from here

Huntington beach is my favorite beach, ever. Unlike Northern California beaches, you won't get swept away and die instantly if you do so much as dip your big toe in the water. That's what the signs and lifeguards would have you believe in Northern California. At some beaches, I'd say that they're not too far off.

I was there to visit family back in December 2019. Back before the pandemic and it was surprisingly not that cold but I only dipped my toes in the water because I wasn't expecting to go to the beach that day. I was wearing jeans. We parked closer to the AES power plant and I could see the pier in the distance. I could also see a strip of land in the distance that I later discovered was catalina island.

I want to move there but how is it now with the whole pandemic & oil spill out there?

I live on the east coast. When we look out across the Atlantic, all we see is more ocean. What is on the horizon here, on the other side of the ocean? I see buildings. I would never be able to walk that distance to the water. The beaches on the east coast aren't nearly that deep. Thanks for the tour.

Yes, there is a designated Huntington Dog Beach, to the right of the pier but before Bolsa Chica, with parking right by it.
