Coming from the south, the Elbe bridges are the gateway to Hamburg.
The Elbe bridges consist of several road and railway bridges that lie next to each other.
They connect Hamburg city centre with the districts of Veddel and Wilhelmsburg.
The first bridge was built between 1884 and 1887, followed later by the others.
The view of the new HafenCity, Elbphilharmonie concert hall and Entenwerder peninsula make this bridge something special.
Hamburg's Elbtower is currently under construction on the Elbe bridges.
This building, will one day be around 245 metres high. However, construction has currently stopped at 100 metres, as the client is insolvent.
