    Off topic but when I was a kid I was fortunate to have flown on National, Eastern, and Delta. And when you went from NY to FL you got a DC-10, L1011, and even a rare Convair 880 or 990. Short flight, lots of comfort, decent meals, few delays, and I remember National handing out those decks of cards with the sun face logo.

    Your videos are awesome!! I noticed that after landing in LAS and all the way up the gate, the leading edge slats were still extended. Do you know if this is SOP for Spirit, did the pilots forget to do the checklist, or did the plane go on MX for a hydraulics system issue? I was just curious because when I worked for America West & US Airways, taxiing in with the flaps/slats still extended were "not SOP," let's just put it that way. Thank you for the great video!!

    You're the best! Thanks so much for watching, and for the comment. The slat thing caught my attention as well, but the plane kept chugging along that day, departing for SMF less than an hour after we touched down. Maybe somebody typed in the A320 family will read this & can address it.

    Hot weather conditions may cause overheating to be detected around the bleed ducts in the wings and can result in a “Wing Leak” fault. You can avoid that by keeping the flaps / slats in Config 1 when the OAT is above 40 C. It’s a recommended procedure from Airbus.

    Hey Ryan. Appreciate the footage as always. Do you think the Big Front Seats are worth it?

  • @RyanBomar

    @RyanBomar

    5 жыл бұрын

    If you're a small-framed person, well under 6 feet tall...and below average weight, the back seats would -probably- be fine for you. It's not what I would consider if you don't fall into the above category. The standard seats on Spirit are the smallest pitch & width of any other aircraft/airline flying in the U.S. If I flew in the back, I'd still be walking around with an airplane seat hanging onto my backside.

That was a hot day here and the crew show it..... close the door and the GAT woman is still on the flight deck? Whoa, propellers turning so fast you can't see them..... great decisiveness on the flight time.... BTW, is this in 4K? Flaps 2. Was that the Maryland SWA at the gate? Nice, KEDW. Where's Yeager? Oops! I'm hearing Elvis, "Viva, Las Vegas...." What is that, "Dry Uterus Park?" Flaps full, speed brakes set, is that a dust devil over there? Cabin crew, take seats for landing. A-320 had room for larger dia. engines from the beginning. The original 737 was designed to be low ground clearance which had to be raised to accommodate CFM-56s for the 2nd generation 737s. Now the MAX engines are bigger.

    As a SoCal born/raised dude, Las Vegas has always held a very special place in my heart. Drinking aside, gambling aside, I really dig seeing Vegas expand, and all that you can experience there. There are more beautiful approaches, scenery-wise, but seeing the strip on approach, or walking down the LINQ Promenade at night will never get old for me. I'm certainly not a person who claps about it, but I get that for a lot of people, it's pretty damn special.

    @@RyanBomar Ryan, I have to be honest - I haven't been on the Strip but twice in the last 8 years, and both of those "visits" were for business. The last time I played "tourist" was perhaps 15 years ago! Actually, I was a tour guide for relatives that came in from out of town. I think that most locals tend to avoid the Strip whenever possible. In my 34 years here, I have seen expansion way beyond what I ever thought possible! Not all of the changes have been positive, in my opinion ... especially since the Bean Counters took control.....Even taking inflation into consideration, it still costs 3X as much to go to a hotel restaurant and have a decent meal, as it did 20 years ago.
