The sound the engine makes when the bus is in motion is so distinct. Brings back so many memories.

I remember those stop lamps on these old fishbowl buses. Best transit bus ever.

Where I drove, our last bunch of New Looks were originally non power steering and were later converted to power with this exact steering wheel and column, except for one bus that kept the original column and steering wheel.

Great Video, I’m a retired New Your City Bus Operator and remember Driving these old tanks, loved em, this ones seems to rife very well, I think one of the Bellows has a tiny leak, your pressure goes up while Driving but when using your bakes it goes back down to around 90.

Great video! This a far better bus than the junk that Calgary Transit owns and uses now. I despise the low floor buses. Calgary Transit was in a big rush to get rid of these GMC buses and the MCI buses, which in my view was a mistake. I get a real kick out of how a car on 17 Ave SE honks twice at the bus. The driver of the bus didn't do anything wrong. When the bus turns off of 17 Ave SE and heads south on 36 Street SE, the lady is running to the bus stop to catch the bus. Only thing is, it isn't her bus! LOL. I would love to be standing at a bus stop some day and have this old GMC roll up to the stop. Thanks for the bus ride down memory lane. Plate C

Why do the windows not rattle when I used to ride GMC New Look buses in the 80s they were such rattle traps.

Mis driving these buses don't care much about the low floor junk. Mis that awsome sound and wyne, these had charactor.
