★ 4K 🇫🇷 Clermont-Ferrand - Sibelin cab ride en BB75400, France [06.2023] Führerstandsmitfahrt
Cette nouvelle vidéo en France va nous mener cette fois-ci de Clermont-Ferrand à Sibelin, en périphérie de Lyon, à bord un train de FRET.
Après avoir remonté jusqu’à St-Germain-des-Fossés la ligne du Bourbonnais, nous bifurquons plein est en direction de Roanne, et quittons désormais la caténaire : nous circulons désormais en double voie traction autonome. Cet itinéraire a d’ailleurs longtemps été utilisé pour dédoubler la ligne de Paris à Lyon pour le trafic FRET.
Après avoir parcouru une longue partie de cette belle ligne au caractère rural, nous traversons Roanne, sous-préfecture de la Loire, Loire que nous traversons juste après avoir quitté la ville, et qui nous détachera également au Coteau de la ligne vers St-Germain-au-Mont-d’Or et Lyon.
Le trajet se poursuit alors vers St-Etienne, où nous retrouvons la ligne plus directe mais en partie fermée de Clermont-Ferrand via Thiers.
La caténaire est de retour ici, et nous retrouvons un trafic péri-urbain, St-Etienne et Lyon étant deux périphéries très connectées.
À Givors, on bifurque de nouveau et on traverse le Rhône, pour s’insérer dans la PLM et ainsi rejoindre le grand triage de Sibelin, en périphérie lyonnaise, point but de notre voyage.

Miles and miles of perfect rail on concrete sleepers, what a joy to see and hear the beautiful quiet machinery humming along, I enjoy watching the rail scenery but I also truly enjoy seeing the business infrastructure and how most is geared towed use of the rail. All the best from Iowa, US.

Can't call it quiet. The noise from the gearbox of one of the traction motors is really annoying.

Thank you Team France and Lorirocks777 - excellent choice of route to close out the year - as much as it is sad to see the numerous closed stations, it's good to see how many station buildings still exist and not just for obvious reasons - the fundamental link to the past is that internal timetables and locomotive performance enthusiasts would always time passes with reference to the Bâtiment Voyageurs - as such this is a good video for a time of year where we reflect on the past. Found this route you chose to film very enjoyable to ride along with you on because it wasn't twisty curve route through a out of the way mountainy area just to view scenic vista but this route was a normal rail route that is the economic lifeblood for having a profitable rail industry that makes a country thrive and compete successfully.

Truly a beautiful video! Congratulations Lorirocks and Team France! It practically covers the whole of Auvergne, touching centers such as Roanne and Saint-Etienne. Chateaucreux station has a complex history, as it was reinforced, due to the mines on which the town rests. A beautiful station as well as the Gier valley. The straight journey in the Loire valley is a bit boring, especially due to the slowness. Great video though as always.

Encore une belle video dans une région que je connais particulièrement bien ! il y a des changements indéniables mais l'absence de ligne en Thiers et Boên est préjudiciable. j'ai le sentiment que le RVB entre le Coteau et feurs ne fait pas spécialement gagné du temps ! quoiqu'il en soit, je vous remercie pour le travail effectué ! Bonjour et merci pour cette video. On voir t que vous connaissez bien la ligne car sur le ralen 60 à la bif vers Vichy, vous engagez le freinage comme il faut mais très tardivement par rapport à quelqu'un qui ne connait pas le secteur. Faut dire que le canton est super long... Autre question, pourquoi ce freinage prononcé en gare de Roanne ou autour, je n'ai rien vu dans la signalisation... merci pour vos retours !

You dated this 6.2023 but the leaves, the flowers on the shrubs and the bright green of the flora suggest late April to early May, unless this region is colder than the rest of Southern France or they had a very cold Spring.
Eine sehr schöne Fahrt. Die Vegetation sieht eher nach April aus. Aber das wäre beim jetzigen Wetter ein Fortschritt 😊

I was curious about this and googled it. It's not a hybrid, it's a diesel-electric. There is no pantograph for overhead wire. The diesel drives a generator which supplies power to the electric motors that turn the wheels.

I enjoyed this video except for some of the quality, there was quite a lot of pixalating at times which spoilt the sharpness of the video, not sure if it was the camera or something to do with you tube.
