Ningbo, referred to as "Ningbo" for short, is a prefecture-level city, a sub-provincial city, and a city under separate state planning in Zhejiang Province. Ningbo is located in East China, the middle of the mainland coastline, the south bank of Hangzhou Bay on the southeast coast, Shaoxing City in the west, and Taizhou City in the south. Ningbo is a typical water town and seaport city in the south of the Yangtze River. It is the estuary at the southern end of China's Grand Canal and the eastern departure port of the "Maritime Silk Road". Ningbo Zhoushan Port ranks first in the world in terms of annual cargo throughput and top three in the world in terms of container volume. It is a multi-functional and comprehensive modern deep-water port integrating inland river ports, estuary ports and seaports. In 2022, Ningbo Zhoushan will be ranked 10th in the world in the comprehensive ranking of international shipping centers.
Ningbo is a famous national historical and cultural city. It was called "Yin" in ancient times. In the Spring and Autumn Period, it was the territory of Yueguo. In the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to the three counties of Yin, Yan and Juzhang County in Kuaiji County. In the Tang Dynasty, it was called "Mingzhou". In the first year of Tang Changqing (821), the state government of Mingzhou moved to Sanjiangkou and built the inner city, marking the beginning of Ningbo's city construction. In the 14th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1381), it was renamed Ningbo in the meaning of "Hai Ding Ze Boning".
Ningbo is the first pilot demonstration city for Made in China 2025. The number of national-level manufacturing champions ranks first in the country, and the number of national-level specialized, specialized, and new "little giants" is second only to Beijing and Shanghai.

@@COLDoCLINCHER37 there was no subway or MRT, transports are by bus. some residential areas are still empty and under develop. The good thing is that ningbo is still cheap to live. There is also a british university such as Nottingham.

因为各种原因医疗水平和高等教育资源，宁波确实相对其他四个计划单列市，省会杭州和上海弱，名气也相对低调一些，旅游资源也是丰富均衡全面但不突出。 但宁波医疗保险待遇，按综合来说，居民的浙江第二，职工的内地第一，在至少2008年的时候，宁波职工就有门诊统筹报销和双通道政策了。而且还有两个地方定制的惠民保险种，天一甬宁保和工惠保来另外报销医保内外自付和自费部分的费用，基础教育（镇海中学，慈溪，余姚，宁海中学等）在全国排前列的，是院士之乡，有院士122人，排在第一。还有对各种弱势群体（孤儿，特困，低保等对象）的保障是浙江排第一和第二，以及在全国排前五的，这些都是民生实事。 其实一个地方什么城建，gdp，旅游资源，各种数据等等再好看和一般老百姓有什么搭界？养老金待遇，医疗保险待遇，基础教育，对弱势群体的保障这些民生实事做得好，才是真的好，宁波这些做的特别不错，而且环境宜人，宜居，舒适。 当然宁波本身GDP和行政地位排在国内前列，目前宁波城建，医疗水平，高教水平也在不断跟上，投入。一般职工退休养老金按15年最低基数目前4462持续缴纳目前也能拿至少2300到2400左右（每年还有多一个月的春节过节费2000，6到9月份，四个月可以拿夏天冷饮费），但江苏最低基数4493，目前一般职工退休能拿的也就1200到1500左右，宁波拿到手的也就比上海（按最低基数7300多，个人自己交，每个月交2700左右，但退休能到手的）差个200到400左右。 公务员，国企民企等工资和退休金相对来说也是国内前列，还有各种补贴，目前就房价确实相对比较高，其他生活，人文，营商，基础教育，医疗，购物休闲，旅游，工作等环境在浙江乃至全国来说都不错。 宁波目前各种政策对新宁波人也特别友好，政策上在宁波居住生活工作半年以上就可以办居住证，有居住证就可以在万一离职的时候，外地户籍的新宁波人选择以年交的城乡居民保险过渡或者自己以灵活就业人员身份缴纳职工保险过渡，过渡到等找到新工作，并且灵活就业人员能享受到的医疗保险待遇也都是一样的，没有区别。这样的，还有很多方面政策目前上海，杭州还办不到哦！就是宁波有实力但低调，很多本地人也不知在宁波的好。

I didn't see so many greenery and cleaness at all in those western cities. A lot Western cities for example in England have extremely narrow streets, and so many ugly graffitis and Paris is horribly choatic and dirty.

The big difference is that we ride scooters! while in the west and Japan few people do so. Many Chinese still cannot afford car and gas as daily transportation. Personally I enjoy riding ebikes a lot it’s fun
