The Minobu Line (身延線, Minobu-sen) is a railway line in the Tōkai region of Japan operated by the Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). It connects Fuji Station in Fuji, Shizuoka to Kōfu Station in Kōfu, Yamanashi, and the Tōkaidō Main Line with the Chūō Main Line trunk railroads.
Trains are all-stations "Local" services, with higher frequencies on the Fuji - Nishi-Fujinomiya and Kajikazawaguchi - Kōfu sections compared to the section in between. 313 series and 211 series EMUs are used on local services.

西富士宮身延間は55キロ走行がかなりあり、甲府まで駅数多く結構きついよ。
Witam jak dobrze jest siedzieć wygodnie w fotelu i przy dobrej herbacie ogladać krajobrazy i otoczenie wsi miast . Jak zawsze wspaniały materiał .

As the train slowly pulls into Minobu station , there is a new chain link fence on the left hand side .The fence as it runs comes to a large blackish brown rock the size of a small table directly in the path of the fence. Any North American/European/Western firm would have brought in a backhoe and moved the rock elsewhere. The local people in Minobu however modified the bottom of the fence to go over the rock leaving it in place to enjoy it's eternal peace and harmony. I have never seen this before. Well done Minobu.
3:50 and the Fuji comes into the picture. As you continue down into the valley, it gets bigger and bigger. Very majestic and impressive.

mt fuji really is one of the most visually appealing mountains. As a portlander im biased in favor of mt hood but fuji is so symmetric....

16年前に山宮からその辺まで歩いた事あるさ。
富士宮駅で海抜100mあるさ。登山道沿い富士宮市山宮に､５年間住んでいて西富士宮から稲子まで歩いた日が懐かしい。宮踊りに参加ししたのも良き思い出です。

I reached top of Fuji-san in 1957 as a member of IBS (International Boy Scouts) of Yokohama. I am thankful for this wonderful lifetime experience.
A 165-minute crawl through a colourless winter landscape with interminable stops every three minutes. Mt. Fuji is impressive, though.
31:20 that station stop is freaking me out! Look in the rear vision mirror on the platform... the same guy gets off the train 4 times! Yet the film is unbroken and is continuous. WTF...??? 2:23:30 same again... the same people get off the train again and again. Some clever editing going on here! Lovely scenery around Mt.Fuji. Can someone explain what the pentagon shaped 5 x light signal approaching each level crossing is for? Is it a warning light? Regards.

富士山の見える位置が場所によって、それぞれ違う。 S字カーブ、Ωループ、スイッチバック、迂回路線(大垣→関ヶ原)、を走行する列車に乗車するのは、普段と違う面白さがある気がする。

私は2005年から10年まで山宮に住んでたんですよ｡工業団地内にあるブラック企業に勤務してた関係で！万野原新田は散歩コースの一つで､大石寺にも三回歩きました。流鏑馬も一度見てるし宮踊りにも参加しました。楽しかったなぁ😅
I have traveled in same train. Actually purchased JR seishun 18 kippu, Took a circuit Atsugi-Chigasaki-Atami-Fuji-Kofu-Otsuki-Hachioji-Hashimoto-Atsugi.

Generally, what are the announcements about? At first, my wife thought it might be a tour, but I told her it looks like a commuter train... but I didn't know for sure... It keeps me company while I work from home alone. Very soothing. I've always loved trains.

generally, they are information about the route. Japanese trains announce where it is bound (kono densha wa, Kofu eki), next stop (tsugiwa), approaching the next stop (mamonaku) and lines you can transfer (norikae)

昔何度も鰍沢口まで乗ったけれど、懐かしい反面これではいつ廃線になるのか心配してしまう。二時間で市川大門についた。遠い時間の流れを感じた。

甲府、鰍沢口間と富士、西富士宮間は利用者結構いるので廃止にはならないだろう。
