[4K] Best Hot Spring in Alaska - Chena Hot Springs Resort in Fairbanks - Walking Tour & Travel Guide
Chena Hot Springs is a hot spring, resort, and unincorporated community in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, United States, 56.5 miles northeast of Fairbanks near the Chena River State Recreation Area. The resort makes use of the first low-temperature binary geothermal power plant built in Alaska, and is working on several alternative energy projects, including production and use of hydrogen and vegetable oil for fuel.
Chena Hot Springs was founded over 100 years ago by two gold mining brothers, Robert and Thomas Swan. In 1905, Robert Swan was suffering from rheumatism and needed a place to calm his pain and be comfortable. The two brothers set out to find the hot springs. It took them a little over a month to reach the hot springs after searching for it in Interior Alaska’s harsh landscape. In 1911, twelve small cabins were built to accommodate visitors. The twelve cabins developed, and they became one of the most famous resorts in the interior of Alaska. The Chena Hot Springs became so famous that the United States Department of Agriculture sent chemists to analyze the water.

Hi! Thanks for watching!
Woah amazing
At 4:11 looks like there was a forest fire that came pretty close to the Hot Springs. I'm not really into Hot Springs, I like the cooling rushing stream, it's sound is so soothing and relaxing! As you were walking around the Hot Springs, I was waiting for Grizzly Adams (Dan Haggarty, the Actor), to walk around the stream area, I know that he's dead, but the area reminds me of him.

All those scared animals that were caught in the forest fire probably panicked out of their minds, poor things!! 😭😢
I love you so much
I haven't watched it yet but I know it must look amazing and enchanting
💞💞💞💞💞💖💖💖💖💖💖💋💯❤️
Beautiful place 👍. However, Alaska is a cold area. It often snows and rains and it's cold. 🙃 But it's a nice area. Hmm... 🤔

Alaska is massive so it really depends where in Alaska. In the interior, I know it can get very warm/hot in the summer months. 90 degrees for a few weeks but mostly 70/80's.

@@deborahmackeyrealty1138 Hi. I don't know. I live in Slovakia. This was just my guess. But of course, it can be assumed ;-). In my home country is also similar weather. In the vicinity of the High Tatras (mountains), the weather is often colder and rainier than, for example, somewhere in the lowlands, where there are few mountains, somewhere on the border with Hungary and Austria.
Farsi quattro passi non è male , anche se virtuale
Ma dove mi trovo?
Grossly over rated. This does not fit the definition of a resort and the front desk staff appeared uninterested in doing their jobs. Very few people I spoke to at the resort had anything good to say about the place except for the hot springs. Food grossly overpriced.
This was a great tour!
