what do you mean with tp to currenct high?

Iv'e been using FVGs on all higher frames to find a narrative where priceis most likely to go... finding the 4hr hold the most weight out of most for day trading... these videos helped me pass phase 1

If you’re going to try this, target the 50% of the FVG as your entry, which will get you twice the R. Of course, moving to a LTF will allow you to find even better entries, but if you’re going to stay on the 4H, try the 50% trick and back test it. I think you’ll find this works best during specific times of the day, probably near market opens, but I’ll run some tests to find out.

I backtested this strategy on GBPUSD from Jan-Dec'23. Total 34 trades, 18 wins, 16 Losses. RR is 1:17. Winning streak - 6, Losing Streak - 6. If I risked 0.5% of my 10K account, I will be having around 850 as profit for a whole year, which is nearly 8.5%.

Hello brother! Thank you for subscribing and for watching. Unfortunately I do not have such data and you need to backtest it or forward test it yourself :)

FVGs are fractal, so you can apply this to any timeframe, but with likely more volatility as you go to the lower timeframes. Also worth saying that FVGs have fractals to them as well, so 25%, 50% and 75% levels. For anyone wanting to backtest something, instead of waiting for a further candle to form, as per your strategy, you could wait for the FVG to form and then put a pending order at the 50% level. Won't likely give the same RR as your strategy but would expect it to be OK. It is also likely that in a trending market that the 50% level will be respected (but may wick above) so would likely trigger an entry.

Wow, GREAT Video. Question...does it have to be the very next 4hr candle only? What if it takes another 4 or 8 hrs before it comes back, would it still be valid?

Inside candles are not supposed to be considered in the FVG complex, and one lucky example does not count as a consistent strategy.

No law, only logic, specifically the 1st candle should not be an insider in the complex because it is consolidation/manipulation on lower time frames, the 3rd candle can be but it s debatable and does not represent a strong move as it is basically already retracement.@@ChrisFXOriginal

Too difficult Chris!!!! How about keeping it slow and release the 1-year FVG strategy? It might be possible with this slower approach for hard learners to be funded by retirement age. 😂
