    CMC got his bag! CONGRATULATIONS TO Christian!!! He deserve and earned it! 🙏 He gets extended for 2 years. We get him for 2 years. Our Offensive Player of the Year in the NFL.

    You damn right he earned it! But you have a player on the team who hasn’t produced a fraction of other star players and expects to get as much or even twice as much as these guys? CMC is the highest paid at his position, RBs get 2/3 of WRs? RBs take far more risks and literally have a shorter career. WRs are easier to find, why should the WR market be higher (and it’s a lot higher) than the RB market?

    If you want to build a winning franchise under the salary cap, pay where you have to according to the value. Right now WRs are NOT hard to find, every year in the draft gets deeper at WR talent. When you can get high value WRs on rookie contracts in later rds, why would pay 1 player with the same money get 3 of them? In today’s market, WRs should not get more than RBs, they are literally the easiest position to acquire!

    I love BA. I don't want to see him leave, but he can leave. There are plenty of mouths to feed on that offense. George Kittle on any other team would be the center piece and have all world stats. We have plenty of guys to catch the ball. We are running a team, and we will never have 100 reception receiver. So why pay a guy like he is one? No disrespect to BA at all. I personally think we move Deebo and 8f we can't get there with BA you move him.

    These pro players are starting to turn me off pro sports because of their greed, they want loyal fans, but they don’t want to be loyal to their team when it comes to contract time, they will drop their team like a hot potato to get more money, I don’t think these players understand how much money they are getting compared to the average working person.

  • @JohnJohn-dy6ll

    @JohnJohn-dy6ll

    19 күн бұрын

    I understand what you are saying; however, you need to understand the context of the NFL. In the same manner that a player can “drop their team like a hot potato” that same team can do the same to the player (and they most often do as with the case with Arik Armstead). I do think the players understand how much they make. The league actually allocates how much teams can pay their players (the salary cap). The NFL is part of the entertainment industry. The more people watch, the more money will be generated. NFL careers are short so the players try to maximize their earning potential.

    I‘m all for players getting what they think they’re worth. However, there should also be some safeguards against ridiculous increases like Jefferson. Sure, it affects a few top WR on a reset market, but even more so it affects second stringers and backups fighting for their roster spots and that are much cheaper cap casualties due to their low guarantees

    I suppose that there's a funny side to everything. Some people in the comments are complaining about players wanting more money like *_THEY_* (the ones who are commenting) are the ones who have to pay them all that money. Let me ask you this: Are *_YOU_* in an industry where your 'shelf-life', for lack of a better term, is extremely limited? That, more than likely, as you age and have been in your chosen field into your 30s or a mere 8 or 9 years, you are more than likely to get paid *_LESS_* money than you did years ago? That instead of moving up the money ladder with tenure, you make decidedly less? Don't you think you would want to get paid as much money as soon as possible because you *_KNOW_* that, unless you're extremely lucky, your health and ability to earn anywhere near the same amount will fade away? This is not to mention the risk of injury *_EVERY TIME_* you show up to work? Geez! Get over yourselves.

    The 49ers players should understand when they get drafted that they are a team built to go after Super Bowls every year, they don't compete with the max contract teams that live in perpetual mediocrity and are looking to just get stars to get their fans to buy tickets. They have six or more offensive weapons, and they can't pay ridiculous league highs on all of them. The 2000s Patriots were built the same way, Tom Brady didn't demand to be the highest paid player of all time if these guys want to make a quick buck and be forgotten tomorrow they should try to go to those teams the money they could bring in by playing deep into the playoffs and having a shot at the HOF. Auike has had prefomance issues in years prior to last year, and he had some in the Super Bowl to risk paying something other teams couldn't pay for if they trade him is too risky. Auike should try to get a fair deal but playing like he is the greatest wide receiver in the league after one very good season in which he knew he was looking for a extension would make me worry about his prefomance after signing.

    @@74Spyderman well if the Denver Broncos can do that so should the Niners put the breaks on the spiraling out of control price increases. (Note it’s the fans that will pay at the door ticket price wise AND eventually higher paywall subscriptions costs not the owners ) otherwise the league will be paying a billion seriously there needs to be a cap on this crazyville spending where does it stop? Bench the guy let him finish off the contract two seasons without a dime and maybe a player will think twice about being pushy however on a superficial level all pay should be guaranteed, especially if the player gets injured. I don’t think an owner should not guarantee a salary because it is a high impact physical field and if a player is injured and injured irreparably to where he cannot continue at least guarantee pay is fair compensation unless the union has a package arrangement to where the players are taken care of that don’t get the guarantee pay, the other thing is this I’m not happy not pleased that the Niners did play hardball withArik and then they took THAT savings and gave it to cmc and I can imagine that is like a salt on a open wound with Arik if he found out his money that they saved went to another player worse may have been the plan all along ! that isn’t right, even though his productivity level was impacted due to injuries and chronic injuries at that! Arik was the heart and soul of The Team inspirational and everyone in the locker room liked him and they give him and the owner and management gives him the golden boot ?! . I think it’s BS.

    @@74Spyderman obviosuly this is something the owner(s) need to either bring into negotiations on how to address this spend crazy upward trend a solution has to be imposed let the marketplace play out my A it’s not working in the arena of psychology because every other,player wants to,rework, their contracts in a upward direction regardless of the draft and trades it’s going up the owners can say the increase to say that player what is his name? Jefferson is a one off huge spike tell that to the other players, the bottom line is you’re missing my point at some point as we all know the players and the owners are in this together to pull in revenue for the NFL in a general context in a general sense but you leave out the part that I mentioned that the ticket prices will go up the paywall subscriptions will go up the higher the pay is go >the higher you and me and the fans pay now the wealthy elites could care less. It doesn’t matter we don’t give a shit about them. I care about the little guy the people that are sports fans. They are not wealthy. They’re being squeezed out or I’ll have already been squeezed out of even watching a game life let alone even watching it for free on TV, that’s the point you’re missing even if I’m missing the point you’re missing the point that the fan in the endgame is losing:because,you,guessed it the fan covers the cost and yes to be technical the ad marketeers but of,course it is a marketplace,they can,always,steer their money towards soccer or other sports if what,the NFL,wants is going upward and it will for ALL of us so long as the,players upward their salaries , am I wrong in saying that high end players like quarterback, Joe Burrow if they were just hurt a finger on their hand or a thumb, they’re out the productivity level drops and they’re out of the game or the quarterback for the Jaguars have little thing involved the hand, the dude is out and it’s because he’s paid a lot of money. They want to take care of their toy. They take them out of the game and they have prolong periods of recovery. Some of them wear gloves and all that I get that some of the players, but also equally some of the higher players that are paid the big bucks or bigger bucks are immediately taken out of the game if they have such a little thing as a pinky finger problem, just ridiculous. sorry if I was the owner of the Jaguars or the team that Joe Burrow was on. Those two guys would’ve been traded off or cut loose because their injury prone broken toys goodbye . lol

    It’s a bitter pill, but coaches have to learn there is such a thing as overcoaching. Loading up your athletes with too much information to process, slows their reaction. Paralysis by analysis. Give the info in easily digestible chunks and let them make it their own response. Critique later but don’t have them second guessing. One of DeMecco’s strengths. I’d say Wilks wanted patient reads.

    Then they should put him back in the doghouse, and make him watch other WRs kicking ass while he just pouts sitting on the bench. And next year going into the offseason his asking price will plummet for offers from other teams, especially if rookie WRs put up better numbers than him (he will be labeled just a product of the system). He would be looking at best a 15 million a yr.
