Not just the kicker, the punter lol.

I coached him for 3 years as a young player. He returned punts for me and had 2 rules. Never RUN forward for a punt, and when the ball is on the ground, run AWAY like it's a bomb. Kyle is a great guy and was a terrific kid to coach. I am still proud of him and his efforts today.

There was a play early in the game where he dove backwards on a punt instead of letting it go into the end zone and almost fumbled. It was obvious from the beginning he had no business being out there. I remember cringing on every punt and it just kept getting worse. If Kyle Williams isn't the worst he's gotta be the most hated in 49ers history.

I was jumping up and down like crazy my goodness I still have flashbacks about this game. In all seriousness I feel for the 49er fans. They had a great team that season and they played an even better game. If Ted Ginn played instead of Kyle Williams the 9ers would've won. Now they're stuck in purgatory.

Ted Ginn was healthy the very next year and the 49ers still failed to seal the deal against the Ravens in SB 47. BTW, Greg Roman should take the brunt of the blame than Kyle Williams in those three 49er playoff losses under Jim Harbaugh.

I think it was a close, team loss. No one is to blame, but everyone (coaches and players) only needed to do a bit more to win.

The 2011-2013 49ers all could’ve easily won the Super Bowl. I was 6-8 years old watching all of these teams break my heart every single year. 2011: Bradshaw fumbled, 49ers get into FG position to win on the left foot of David Akers. And then of course, Kyle Williams, we were going to win on a FG right there. IMO, we win XLVI. 2012: Refs properly flag Jimmy Smith, 49ers win 36-34. Kaep wins MVP and we go B2B. 2013: If it wasn’t for the bad calls, 49ers three peat and become a dynasty as they destroy Denver Broncos in XLVIII. We’ll win one soon. I know we will.

The 49ers would've lost SB 46 thanks to Tom Brady's heroic game-winning drives. SB 47? Comeback fell short. SB 48 would've been the best of the three. How did the Jim Harbaugh era San Francisco 49ers lose those three playoff games and also under Kyle Shanahan in 2019 and 2021? Turnovers, points off turnovers, third-down conversions, and red zone touchdown efficiency.

To credit them, the Giants squeaked by with a little bit of luck (Wes Welker drop, Mario Manningham catch). I definitely do think that in Super Bowl XLVII the Ravens outplayed us, but we still had a chance to win with a few questionable calls spread out through the second half (e.g, Bruce Miller held on Jones kick return, Ed Reed jumping offsides on a 2-pt that we missed, Crabtree-Smith contact on 4th & goal, etc.) Then of course, in 2013, when Navorro Bowman stripped Jermaine Kearse of the ball, recovering, and keeping it secure while getting his leg broken AND dogpiled on top of, would’ve sent us to the Super Bowl, where we win big over Denver. That’s how I see it all playing out.

Has a 49er fan this is one of the worst losses that the 49ers had.... That 2011 San Francisco 49ers team was something very special because up to that point for the past five years the 49ers weren't just a awful team.. they have records where teams don't want to have a record for like having the fewest touchdowns or allowing the most sacks, the most turnovers or giving up more touchdowns than any other teams.... Then you have Alex Smith who was the number one overall in 2005 had I want to say five different offensive coordinators.. and he had head coach Mike Nolan and head coach Mike singletary criticizing him questioning his toughness and real remember the Philadelphia game on Sunday night where head coach Mike singletary is just yelling at Alex Smith and the fence at that time lost patience with Alex Smith and booed him really bad.... The fans in the media really Chris sized Alex Smith as well.. but that year of 2011 when Jim harbaugh came to San Francisco 49ers as their head coach and that's when everything changed... That was a awesome season and it's one of my favorite San Francisco 49ers teams... That division of playoffs against the saints was one of the greatest football teams ever and when I sing Kyle Williams fumble of all for the second time I cursed his name so much... But when I find out that he was getting death threats and I said to myself that's not right because yeah he fumbled twice but it's not like he did it on purpose and it's just the game at the end of the day but I was really hoping that he can have that incident motivate him and work very hard and I was really hoping that he can have a breakout season in 2012... Not to mention that the other successful 49ers players didn't blame him as well they actually stood up and defend him which that makes an awesome team... In the following year, did pretty decent and I think if the 429ers won the super bowl against the Baltimore Ravens... I think the niner Nation would probably either forget about this championship game..

Kyle Williams is just the scapegoat. Greg Roman had countless series to get in FG range to win this game but he refused to run the ball with Gore and Hunter easily averaging over 5 yards/carrry. Each series 3 and out on all pass plays. Calling all pass plays when Alex is 11 for 25 and 0 for 10 on 3rd downs. Greg "can't call big games" Roman deserves just as much blame especially given what he did in next year's Superbowl.

So, I guess Kyle Williams was to blame for LaMichael James's lost fumble against the Ravens in SB 47 and they had a healthy Ted Ginn Jr. in that game? Was Kyle Williams to blame for Colin Kaepernick throwing two interceptions against the Seahawks in the 2013 NFC title game? Seems to me you're also in concussion protocol.

I wouldn't say a lot, but definitely a higher rate than regular season games - which makes sense, the teams are evenly matched and playing hard till the last second

Jim harbaugh brought hard nose physical football to the 49ers. the general manager should have had been fired. went he got fired the whole team when downhill. players started quitting. they tried to make Colin kaepernick play from from the pocket, but it wasn't his ability. karma is a bitch.

And Kyle Williams told you, "Kiss my Super Bowl ring" when he returned to the Bay Area as a Denver Bronco and is part of the Super Bowl 50 winning squad in 2015. BTW, the 49ers offensive coordinator in the Jim Harbaugh years, Greg Roman, is out of a job again. Blame Greg Roman more than Kyle Williams.

Think of what the other 31 teams fans think every year when their favorite team loses

Giants did the league a favor that year by being probably the only team able to beat the Pats in fairly easy fashion. 49ers were in the superbowl the next year....... they lost. They went again in 2019-20...... They lost.
