    635 horse is pretty good for an NA motor, even an 8-liter. And it makes like 70-80% peak torque right off idle. That's what ya gotta love about big-displacement American V8's - they're just brute strength in engine form.

    @PowerNationTV. Nice works guys! But I have a genuine challenge for you. Either a GM series 2 3800 S/C of course (but that’s simple) OR a 4.0L L47 NORTHSTAR! The 4.0 is the one with racing pedigree and we all know how Cadillac loves to race. Can you guys build an ITB Indy style DOHC V8. The architecture of the northstar is very similar to the Atlas/family 4200, The same old small/big block builds gets really stale.

    Loved the different iterations... Would have loved to have seen what it would have made with a spacer I'm sure a racy engine will get a hood scoop of some sort... Also I think that the hp/tq curve would have looked better/flatter if you would have put the EFI back on, would make tuning it easier, better drivability, better starting, and best of all more power. Just saying 😉

  • @loganh2233

    @loganh2233

    That’s actually incorrect. Carburetors make a squeeze more power. Fuel from a carburetor runs through the intake and cools the intake air making a little bit more power. You don’t get that effect with port injection.

    I like these guys when they build engines, but, for the life of me I cannot figure out why they keep doing the same stuff over and over. After seeing them build LS after LS after LS...then Ford after Ford after Ford I stopped watching. I wanna see them do a 392, 345, or 304 IH motor. These are just as American as anything else but really could use the updates. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.....DO AN IH MOTOR!!!!!!

    Who makes parts from those engines and where do you find a core?

    @@cedricwilson2055 Cores for the 304 and 345 can be found anywhere from junk yards to Scout specialty shops. I have a 304 and 392. No one makes high performance parts outside of Camshafts, Distributors, Exhaust Headers, and EFI...But the resources and connections these guys have could open a whole new segment for the IH aftermarket.
