Great video, love the overnight camping videos. I target mostly walleyes myself and fish the pete quite a bit and the rest of the wisconsin river. Looking to get a big girl through the ice this year. Would like to start targetting smaller lakes. You guys put in the work and it shows. Maybe some day well see ya around, saw ya guys at the wisconsin ice show but it was pretty crowded.

When hand lining fish on your tipups, especially seeing you have helpers why put your line into a inevitable frozen knotted pile, Ive developed a technique to pull the line lay it flat around the hole. Has saved lots of time and frustration and lead to more fish. Just something I noticed. Nice video

Unfortunately we do not discuss lake names. We do sometimes keep fish though, but not very often! And we always try and put the big ones back, that’s super important to keep a lake sustainable. We may do a catch and cook in the future! We love fish, just don’t keep fish all that often! 👍

Fish fin conditions tell you a lot about the fishery. When you start seeing rip fins means there are a lot of fish schooling, competing for food and territory. Same for crappies, clean fins means they are larger but less in the school, broken tails and fins means larger schools competing for food.

Yes for walleye we use small size 10 hooks, but for walleye since they get over 40” we try to use big ones! We are likely going to down size a bit on our next mission. Usually they don’t mind the big hooks, but if they are feeling picky, it’s not the best presentation.
