46 Year Old Jeep Takes On Overlanding
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hey my lovelies
Little bit of a different episode. It was so nice to see Jay again and listening to his Overlanding cross country stories are just incredible.
I don’t think I would have the guts to do what he does but the set up is incredible!
Happy Jay received the Yankum rope and now I’m really considering turning Oma the Tacoma into more of an Overlanding vehicle.

He is the epitome of a man who loves his Jeep. 🦆👍👍 keep it going for another 46 years! It was a great thing you did with giving him the blue Yankum rope, you can tell he really appreciated the gift from you.🫶🏼
Holly, you are amazing. As soon as he was talking about a Yankum Rope I knew you were giving him one, because that is who you are. He is old school, people can learn a lot from him. God bless
I wish "J" a safe trip home for him and his companion.
You just made my day Holly. Thanks!!! Its involvement like that that makes a difference in this world.
Great guy, and very generous of you Holly on giving him that team blue rope👏
You are the bomb Hollie! Great story and glad he loved the rope. Wasn't sure who was gonna bust a tear first!!

Noble thing you did Holly. You know he stared at that road for quite a few miles. You’re a good soul.
He was GREAT Hollie as are you. Thank You.
That's a cool old rig right there! I hope you get to show it again after the rebuild. And you could see the joy in his face when you have him that rope.

It was amazing,
Just got to love what he's been doing all these years. Love the old jeeps.
Oh man. The adventures that he would be able to chat about from all those years of traveling would be awesome 🎉🎉🎉🎉.
he was spot on about you Hollie and i totally agree with him, you are just about the sincerest youtuber out there. it looks like you are working on the format change for sure, it's nice to see all 3 fazes of hollies normal day to day. mixed with wheeling and building things. Rudy has taught you some good fab work. go team rad mischief!
That was awesome Hollie.. you made that old fellas year , with a simple act of kindness . Thats why we luv ya , you’re a kind and genuine person , you and Walter both are the type of people we all strive to be ..
What a neat guy to speak with.

I know, right. Over 2 dozen trips back and forth across the country. He's got it figured out.
Semper Fi.. his 78 brings back great memories. I had a 56 Willy's then. To have one with a V8 just a great blast from the past. The stacks on the back for crossing deep water... the fording kits on the military Jeeps... carried over and a great addition. Just a great vehicle and a huge contrast to the modern day overlanding vehicles. Simplicity and functionality, nothing more and nothing less. You really would have been blown away to have asked what the rig sticker priced in 78... a Renegade..brand new. That was top of the line then. Great rig. Passing that rope on to him made his day and then some. Kudos for that 👏 👌

1978 sticker price was $5500
I sure hope the old man has a way to protect himself while he's on the road not the same country it was 5 years ago

Nice to see a CJ on the channel spring suspension short wheelbase great back story and that was a very nice thing you did giving him the rope. God Bless keep up the great videos! Good things happen to those who are good and you my dear are deserving 💕🙏🏼
I happen to know Jay Whaley personally and you are right he is capable but I'm sure he would like it if you stop by to lend him a hand but make sure to video it. So Jay is wonderful and we are waiting for him to get back here because we all miss him
Love old heads and their ingenuity.
My husband retired almost 2 years ago & we think you should totally make "Oma" the Tacoma into an overlander.....we'll follow your lead and make our "Taco"ma into one too.....🙂
Holly, yes please re overlanding. You live in such a beautiful part of the world and I would love to see your videos of further afield.
Love the old school cup holders on the dash...
He held that rope like a baby. I'd say that's a win.
I have a 77 CJ7. It was a barn find, I slowly restored and upgraded every system. Now days I daily drive it. I love CJ's!
Love his set up. I love watching you interact with other people. Shows your caring nature
Hollie I hope to meet one day you are so down to earth and I love how you take the time to help people. I am finally caught up on your videos
awesome to see him out enjoying himself and a genuine person. And you also. Hopefully someday, I will have the time to do the same thing. And financially.
What a Great visit with your old friend, that was so endearing.❤
You saw a friend who had a need. You paid it forward👍👏🏻
Yes on the Oma the tacoma. This is awesome I love to see how jeep owners make them the way they want and use them. Just the greatest thing I have seen.
Again Holly you are absolutely amazing, I’m loved this video and how he has built his overland er and been traveling with it for years
When I get to his age, I want to be just like him! Had my TJ for 18 years so on the right track. 🤣
Well that was so cool and nice of you. Holly you're alright I don't care what😉😉😘❤🤟🏽👍🏼🤙🏽👏🏽👏🏽😊😎🙋🏽♂️🙏🏽
I made that sign for him!! Haha i couldn’t get it in blue :(
Love your ideas on overlanding. Just remember that your front axle like the bronco is junk for high stress situations. Very dependable for what you are doing with it today. Can't beat it for daily driver but off-road use will kill it. Love your content Holly
am I the only one that was wondering where the rear diff was???? it took a minute to realize we were looking at the trailer....but I had been drinking a wee bit🥃
You might want to inform him Clint at C&C equipment in Nashville,in has anything he needs including frames for the jeep.
Suspension seats make a huge difference in any older vehicles ride comfort. Also actually replacing all the bushings and worn suspension components together makes a huge difference in drivability. Never gonna be like a modern vehicle but I've had my cj7 doing 85 mph no problem and riding comfortably around town.

great as always you guys meet so many people and you spend time with them thank you
This makes me on the hunt for a 51 willy's trailer to match Snoopy! Awesome !
I was hoping to see hollie bring the jeeps out longside the old cj5 n even take him for a ride in MM or Nessie
So nice of you Hollie
I need to drive up to Hickory for some beekeeping equipment. May do that today. I'll be at Bantam for sure!

Jay is the sweetest!!
Probably because I’m N old fart but this is the best video you’ve done in a while you have a very kind heart he was thrilled and yes you are spot on it is nice to have help from a friend now and then, it’s awful difficult solo on any project . Try building a home , barn and super cool 4x4 ….well you know . Hehe . 😎
I would totally overlander Oma. Check out 4WD24/7 and look at the Aussies version of overlanding. Some great ideas there, especially if you go back a while. They're onto fancier rigs now, but I like some of the older ones more.
Cor"P"s grrrrrrrrrr...... Oorah to you Sr. and thank you for your service.
What a lovely setupp that man had. Wich him The best. IF I chould build an overlander id go with an old scool diesel that kan run with out batteriets. Manual transmission so that you can puch and pullstart it and a snorkel and stacks for rivercrossings.
I was wondering where the taco bell dog went.
I live about an hour from Hickory, PA. Maybe I'll run into him someday.
What a charming episode Holly. Thanks for sharing and for your kindness and generosity. Quick question regarding your Tacoma…did you do a video on the installation of your Decked system? If you did, could you share the information? Thank you.
Good evening Holly Happy Monday from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 🙋♂️ I just caught your video and it was really touching how you handled your other viewer who popped into your shop at the Midwest.. He seems to be a great viewer and he would be a really good friend and asset to your show. I wish I was able to find somebody here on the East Coast to help me I'm 60 years old I've gone through some health issues and this is and I have an 07 Chevy Tahoe police package 4 wheel drive that somebody blew the engine. No it wasn't me.. But this happened in 2017 and I still have it sitting in my driveway I just wish I could afford to put an engine in it but finances have not been able to go that route I also am a caretaker from my mom who is first stage dementia and It's a rough thing when you have to take care of a parent and you're the only child taking care of her and the others Only give negativity and criticize everything you do.. But I just wish I could find someone who could help me out with getting an SLS engine or ALS engine rebuilt or finding me one that has decent mileage but it's hard to find one down here in South Florida. Everything I find is junk and has Too Much mileage and I can't afford it from now Somebody gave me a vehicle that I have to Drive and I can't keep my rescuequipment oh did I tell you I'm also a volunteer first responder but getting back to it I can't even keep my stuff in my Toyota Highlander meaning tools for work and Rescue gear... But that's enough about me again your video tonight really touched me and I just pray that somebody comes knocking on my door to help me.. All because it's depressing to keep seeing that Tahoe of mine sitting in the drag way riding away... Again thanks Holly for all your great videos and your great personality..
That was awesome Holly.
Looks like loads of fun!!✌🚙
Neat old jeep and over lander setup.
Heck yeah! I have a similar setup I’ve been working on. I have an M416 trailer I restored and am going to pull behind my LJ 😀

That was really cool!
Overland that Taco
Yes that would be fun
Great guy
Awesome video Holly!!
Very COOL, Great Video
How is it that you don't have over 100k subscribers?

When he said Dana 44 oil bath with the video. I was stumped. Then realized that must have been the trailer axle.Ha ha who was that editor.
@joetheadapterguy

No, the dana 44 is under the jeep. The wheel bearings are flooded with oil that can circulate back to the tubes instead grease. The trailer has a custom axle with electric brakes and mechanical parking brake.

Doing really well lately. It still has its moments, but nothing that I can’t handle 😀. Feels really good to be back in the garage and wheeling full time.
Morning Holly!
Semper Fi
Remember to go vote for her every day! I do! 😉
I'm wondering why his Jeep is squatting as much as it is. From a simple trailering point of view, it looks odd. Wouldn't a higher lift on the trailer and shifting of loads give more balance and more rear axle travel? Extra weight in the back is more traction on the rear axle but less on the front.
N conveniently its blue ......
👍
Huh..... PTO...... Hybrid electric generator... Boondockers power grid?
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽
Thanks for introducing this awesome gentlemen & his life adventure! Also I just viewed Misadventure and I have a request could you possibly share some of your Opera Singing with us pretty please 🥰😁🩵💙🤍💛❤️🫂
