46 Color Blind Ladies Distinguishing Colors For The First Time 👓 (version 1️⃣ of 2️⃣)
This compilation is dedicated to my father, who was color blind, but did not live long enough to enjoy color-adjustment optical technology. Red-green color blindness is the most common form, but only about 0.5% of females (compared to 8% of males) of Northern European descent have it. Ironically, if you are a color-blind female, there's a chance your mother is a tetrachromat, which is someone with a genetic variation that gives them four types of cone cells on their retina instead of the usual three, enabling them to distinguish 100 million colors instead of just the one million seen by typical people. A bowdlerized version of this video is at • 46 Color Blind Ladies ...

"You see this everyday?" That got me. The many blessings we take for granted...
A friend of mine who was in his late 60's when he got his Enchroma glasses described what it was like seeing colour for the first time. He said "It was like all my life, I was eating oatmeal for every meal. 10 or 12 different types and varieties of oatmeal. . . . . I thought my life had some interesting flavours and combinations of oatmeal and I was used to it all. . . But it was all oatmeal and nothing else . . . And then one day I discovered, chilli, and steak, and ice-cream, and chocolate, and red wine, and cinnamon, and onions, and bananas. . The palate selection grew by about 1,000"

"You guys see this every day!?" ... makes me teary-eyed to see this gift of what the world looks like to most, being given to those who've never known what they were missing.
I LOVE watching these reactions of people’s joy and tears in seeing color. I can only GUESS that this will be a part of how people will react seeing heaven for the 1st time
I watch most videos involving "colorblind people seeing colors", "deaf people hearing"," blind people seeing"-- for the first time... and it is one of the miracles of our time. I'm so grateful to get to witness these remarkably beautiful human experiences and I'm overjoyed for them all.
I will never tire of watching people see purple for the first time.
These always make me emotional, I can't imagine not seeing all the differant shades of colors around me. There is so much beauty in this world.
I would buy a pair for someone just to see the joy that these people are experiencing. It is amazing. Hopefully the price will come down as more people purchase them and competitors enter the market. Color blind people definitely deserve this product at an affordable price.
There was a lady that was given a pair. She wanted to go a shopping center. Seemed odd. She proceeded to walk around for over two hours looking at the cars then people watching. Later she went inside to a cosmetics counter for over an hour and spend $300. The ladies working cosmetics were all crying when they heard her story and spent a lot of time with her.

If this were a man no one would care.
Something most of us take for granted and they are overjoyed! Who ever gifted these them gave them door to a whole new world!
Imagine closing your eyes and when you open them every single thing in your view is beautiful beyond your expectation, imagination, and explanation. That's why we cry 😅
Best invention in a long time! 👍
These should be covered by health insurance as medical devices (I noticed two sisters sharing a pair). Not only for the quality of life improvements generally, but think of the ability to tell street light colors apart at night or distinguish different medications.
Well, we have supercomputers, self-driving cars, rovers on another planet, but the biggest miracle of technology is just THIS small...
Thank you....people crying from happiness....THATS the way to cry.....great video compilation...

I'm red/green colour blind. You can't judge colours properly... Someone says grass is green and you identify the shade/colour you see as green, but that shade in darkness or in different light will probably be identified as a different colour. Yellows are ok, unless they have a bit of green in them, blue is ok until it turns purple, shades of brown are brutal, reds can be awful. Tints are mind boggling.
They are so excited to see what we see every day and take for granted. Always be appreciative of your world and those around you.
This reminds me to be so grateful for things taken for granted. I'm so happy for those seeing the world through new eyes. 😊
This makes me appreciate the little things in life so much more. Like can you imagine your entire life your perception of the world being turned down seriously. My favorite thing is how these people always react to red and purple. Can't imagine the overload of information that happens to the brain. No wonder all of the people get so emotional. Whoever came up with the idea of these glasses and managed to make it work, deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.
So cool to see the emotional reactions of pure joy. They need to include a box of tissues with every pair.
If nothing else it really makes me appreciate the things, like seeing color, we take for granted. What an awesome and amazing gift.
A reminder to all of us to appreciate the incredible beauty we can see in this world.
What a miraculous gift these glasses offer...a whole new world!
My Dad was color blind, oh how I wish he could hae experienced this before he passed. I can only imagine the thrill he would have experienced with these magic glasses. This is a totally amazing development for the color blind. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things like these videos make me realize what little things we don't even notice that can be so big for other people it's amazing just amazing
I’m an artist and was always mystified how “regular people “ didn’t see what I saw. My boyfriend was driving and I saw a house and said,” I could never live in that house, it looks like an evil clown face.” He slammed on the brakes, backed up. He said he’s passed that house a million times and never saw it. Now he can’t not see it. Everyone’s “ vision “ of life is their own. Be nice, have fun and rock on.
Once again thank you for the privilege of sharing your joy! Gang you've made the rainbow connection . God Bless !
The way people react with tears is just so pure. I wish I could experience what they do!
Wonderful ! So wonderful !
😂😂😂😂😂😊😊😊😊😊it’s a blessing , somebody invented a pair of glasses for the man and woman color blind, out standing innovation thank God, it’s about time , what a gift🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I’m colorblind and didn’t find out until I graduated high school and applied for a job and was told I didn’t qualify because I was colorblind. I said what are you kidding me? I just thought I didn’t know my colors. It’s hard especially being a female. All three of my sons are also colorblind.

Makes me think about when I was a high school teacher and had to enforce the school's uniform policies (which I didn't agree with), right down to sock color, even assign detention for violations. For all anyone knows, a person could reach that age and not even know exactly what colors their clothes are. 😥

SUCH BEAUTIFUL moments 🥰❤️😍!!! We, who can see colour take it SO MUCH for granted coz it's the norm for us....just makes us realize how LUCKY we are!!! Thank you SO much for sharing!!!!😍❤️😍! Enjoy your new world of colour!!!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍😘
All of us that can see color everyday take it so for granted. Wow how seeing color changes your perspective. Wait to see their faces when they see Disney movies for the first time. That should be so much fun for them!
I’m excited for these women to be able to see color, but I’m a little sad for what they have missed.
These are colors that you and I see everyday and do not bless the Lord for giving to us. Seeing these people reminds us of the blessings given to us by the Lord here on Earth. Thank you to the person who invented these glasses.
A girl I went to highschool with was color blind. I always think about her when I watch these and wonder is she has gotten a pair of the encroma glasses yet.
Much thanks for this video! I haven't seen one yet that shows color blind women. I was starting to think only men get color blindness.

I took Color blind test on computer-sometimes had trouble and took my time ,I passed normal. Reason: stress or health issues I would see black, gray or selective colors. Glad people go to gardens and I would caution Distractive maybe to much. God bless new eyes to see.

EXACTLY RIGHT!!! Speaking from experience, as I am colorblind, the "colors" was there when I put the glasses on. As for knowing what each individual color was - some things was a guesstimation = grass is green / Sky is blue / brake lights are red type of scenario. Some things I had memorized what color it was. For example my vehicles, the color of our house, the animals we had etc. I knew what primary colors was & had memorized what color + color would = new color, but that didn't mean I could see any of them. I truly don't understand how these folks put on the glasses & poof out pops a color professor 🧐 I was a 49 year old kindergartner studying to take a color test fir sure. I was kinda embarrassed when my son brought me a box of 64 crayons -hands down, truly the best study guide ever & I felt super blessed he thought of them.

Everything before come in fifty shades of black or grey or a muted dusty green. To them ., They think there is only one shade of green. A few can see a little blue like the pale blue of the sky but brighter blues all look grey. They never knew that all colors have many hundreds of shade. Most cry because once they slip them on they feel like stepping thru the looking glass like Alice.
I want them to be in a room full of glitter and confetti when they see color for the first time. Or at a beautiful garden.
While the rest of us take advantage of the beautiful colors that we see every day, these people are finally getting the chance to see these colors for themselves. Send some technology amazing. I can't wait till they invent color seeing contacts For people with color blindness. If I were to ever get somebody with color blindness these glasses. I would take them to a place within a month's amount of bright colors. Maybe I would do it in the second week of Spring. Whatever thing is, blooming and everything is green. And I would probably have a huge gathering. And i'd ever wonder what a weird, colorful clothing.😊😎
Always ... an emotional roller coaster! Why do they ask 'what do you see?" How can anybody really describe what they've never seen? I've never seen poor ... dirt-poor people get this gift.
The fellow at 6 minutes telling the girl she's seeing "mint pink" is hilarious. Wait til she sees a sky blue pink, then she'll REALLY be amazed.
Makes u realise how much we colour seeing people take for granted! It must be like Dorothy stepping into the colour land of OZ in real life! 😳🙏❤️👍
Best movie for them to see the day they get their glasses is: The Wizard of Oz !!!
15:45 it's so cute, she is telling us what we've seen since birth.
Colors are tied to emotion strongly. Example, a red taillight produces exposive laughter

Do they also have enchroma contact lenses?
Watching people putting on those glasses in concrete areas with just some grass is kinda sad.
Finally, they show someone (woman 41) looking at an Ishihara color test, and immediately she saw the number 8. I've been hoping to see someone take and pass that test. My cousin is colorblind and he thinks the Ishihara test is fake (or BS if you prefer) His mother is colorblind also.
Color supercharges emotions.
Its like watching the beginning of the wizard of Oz.
It's crazy how almost all the men immediately start weeping but relatively few women do -most are just like, "Whoa this is weird."
Shows how we takebeauty for granted.
We take so much for granted...
Wait till they see their first rainbow
Crying at the opticians 😭😭😭😃🌹🌹🌹
You can experience some thing fairly similar to what many color blind people see. Just go outside at dawn or sunset just after the sun goes down The colors are very muted and many times just various shades of gray. To live in a world where that is all the color you see would be very drab. What a dismal world to live in. God bless the people who developed these.
One from the UK is in my home town😊
"even the weeds are pretty"
If you do this for a loved one, please do not ask them what color they are seeing.... They don't know. Instead, hold up a balloon and say this is the color purple. Or this is the color yellow. Also, don't just let them stand there and cry. Put an arm around them....as the experience is akin to seeing God and rather emotional.

Most colorblind people do know. They've grown up being able up differentiate the colors, even if they're going by the shades they know. It's how people seeing colors for the first time can still point out which balloons are which.

Distinguishing colors is very different than seeing the colors properly. Color-blindness glasses don't “fix” color-blindness, but they can make it easier for people - color-blind or not - to tell colors apart.
@mso4433

An example is a red/green color blind person observing a green bush with red flowers. They can't tell the difference between the flowers and the leaves without help. The glasses help them with contrast. I'm sure even a small difference in color vision is appreciated.
I'm color blind myself. Can't image what seeing the full spectrum of color is like. Unfortunately, I can't afford the glasses.

If you want to know what it's like to be somewhat colorblind (To Red) turn your flashlight on (on your phone) close one eye tight and put the flashlight on it for about 30 seconds. Then look at something red with your other eye closed. Keep switching eyes to see the difference. It's actually really trippy haha don't worry, the color red will come back to normal after a minute lol

I was curious as to how some of the ladies could distinguish between certain colors and shades, like purple and orange. Red is the color that nearly all of were amazed by. For a long time, anyone who used crayons realized there were different shades of colors. "Olive Green" comes to mind.
we should all see the world w/ the amazement of these awesome people!
