It doesnt matter if Modi loses elections in recent elections or future, he has changed indian politics forever. And its a good thing. Politics before was heavily dependent on identity, caste, tribe, religion, language etc. Development was something only used in party manifesto and then only remembered in next election cycle. because of Modi, indian politics now revolves around economic development of the country. And its beneficial for all parties and not just BJP. Due to identity politics politicians who did hard work honestly in their capacity never got recognition and they had to compromise on various matters. Now, politicians can hope their hard work also translate into electoral victories.

Sarbananda Sonowal joined the BJP in 2011 prior to PM Modi's national ascent. He was in the AGP prior to that. AGP is in the NDA fold now. Sarbananda Sonowal never represented hyperopposition to Hindu politics per say. I think this caveat should be mentioned.

Modiji is not at all corrupted.From where he derives this trait nobody tells.Many of the politicians are corrupted but Modiji is not.Modiji is dedicated himself entirely for the country.

Corruption is a very complex subject. One of the reasons is competing objectives. And you'd be surprised that in 'today''s India people will be very dissatisfied without corruption. Its a kind of grease that gives a semblance of efficiency . I'll give an analogy. People say honesty and communication is the key to a good relationship. But trust me people in long lasting relationships will tell you that reasonable lies and lot of silence are the key to good relationship. Cheers and best wishes!

Shekhu the genius needs to vent his increasing frustration about the imminent third time success of the BJP, which he presents as an analysis. He does not mention that ideologically, there is no difference between Vajpayee, Advani and Modi. It is just that under Modi, the party got the sufficient electoral power to implement their vision. Obviously, Shekhu fondly wishes BJP had remained at under 200 seats in the Loksabha. As regards BJP opening the gates to all defectors from rival parties, it is a well planned strategy to weaken and demolish opposition. After elections, these new recruits will have to toe the BJP ideology. And if they do not want to, too bad. Because by then their original parties may no longer exist.

Party switching has a long history. Even people like Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari who was president of Muslin league, switched side to Congress and later become president of it. So as Jinnah from Congress to Muslin league.

Difference between BJP and Congress is BJP is winning on Merits whereas Congress won due to emotional appeal after death of Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandi

BJP is strong because of congres's mistakes. Congress became weak because 1. Shahbano case followed by Ram mandir movement affected congress the most. It made BJP a national party. 2. Dismissioal of karnataka CM by Rajiv Gandhi on airport. BJP captured lingayat votes under Yediurppa and make inroads to karnataka. 3. In 1989 they refused to form government. BJP grew within that period. 4. Allowing Mamata Banerjee to leave congress. Now congress wiped out from bengal 5. Far left policies during 2004-14, frequent térrori*t attacks and corruption cases. That make BJP's hindutva vote bank consolidated which wasn't in 2004. And they reduced to 44 in 2014 6. Forcing Jagan Reddy to leave congress. In 2004 and 09 congress won because of Andhrapradesh. Now they wiled out from that state. Appeasement policies make BJP stronger. Anywhere anytime.

Pt. 2 BJP was then led by B. B. Shivappa. BJP grew in Karnataka because of Anantkumar skills and Lingayat votes shifting after Devegowda's mistreatment during 94 to 99. Also, OBC votes was consolidated after Bangarappa joined BJP during 2004. In 23, BJP lost because of Muslim consolidation behind Congress and Vokkaliga believing DKS has a chance of being CM. In short, BJP ceiling in KA Assembly elections is 95 maximum. They need strong presence in Old Mysore and parts of North Karnataka to win majority on own.

Under Modi rule Yogi, Hemant Sharma, Amit Shah like leaders emerging.... which is not case under Indira Gandhi.....

Corruption at the central govt cabinet level is Zero. Common people face corruption only at state govt level - which are now heavily ruled by opposition parties - DMK, v YSRCP, TMC, INC, etc. The survey analysis must be done at state level to figure out what the sample in each state says.

I don't think the corruption has gone up . The survey is not reliable. None of the BJP ministers in the centre have been charged with corruption. Even the BJP govts in the states do not have any corruption charges though there were allegations in Karnataka but the congress has not taken any follow up action in the 1 year it has been in power. Of course it is a different matter in opposition ruled states like Delhi, Tamil.Nadu and West Bengal where there are serious charges

Look BJP understand without power they can't bring any changes.. Some corrupt people are loved by local people and BJP NEED to accommodate them to get power... Only talking ideology wouldn't have brought Article 370, abrogation etc... The Final agenda is UCC and One Nation one poll.... NRC IS complicated

There is lot of difference between Indira and Modi, don’t compare both of them. Indira and THE Family depends on appeasement and destruction of economy. But Modi along with social equality, he improved economy all sectors UPI, uniform tax with GST, improving roads, railways, ports and airports, manufacturing, education(increased IITs and IIMs), health(ayushman Bharat and increased AIIMS in states).

Sorry to disagree !! Indira Gandhi's Congress was and is still dynastic ...hence they are falling apart...as they cannot find a capable leader within their family FULL STOP. BJP is a democratically driven party...so succession will come from an open field of capable candidates within the party.

This so called “CSDS lokniti poll “.Who gave the poll,I don’t know.Its quite interesting to know who funded that poll.And based on that poll the editor describes the wave of the 140 cr populated nation .😂

I think one thing that has not changed of bjp from atalji's time to modi's is that not hesitating from taking bold steps and decisions as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ji also said that Atal ji had never hesitated to take decisions atleast between 2002-2004 and we can see now also it is there but if protests are there against the law or bill the govt. also take back and repel the bill like 3 farm laws and in delaying caa.

As times and conditions change, parties have to change . Congress did not , why should BJp stay same ?

You conveniently forgot to point out that corruption at central government level has gone down. That’s the crux. Head of Indian Government is keeping his whole team away from corruption. This is no mean achievement in India. Be fair!!

Shekar, you forgot to mention about Congress party resurrection!!🤔supporting Shivsena in Maharashtra, making ex ABVP as CM in Telangana and making EX JDS leader as CM in Karnataka and tying up with(DMK) party which thrown congress in Tamil Nadu and alliance with left parties(except in Kerala).

BJP must change with the times and it must change for the better. While BJP must be appreciated for its evolution so far, the issue of who next after Modi is not so worrying. Thete are quite a few who can take over in due course. Amit Shah, Devendra, Yogi, Himanta or Scindia are always there.

Sekhar has tried very hard to find fault with Modi calling him as his personality is more than Vajpayee and advani ... He carefully omits to say Vajpayee and advani were larger than BJP at that time. Some one get him a digene or antacid for his atamach ache

Shekhar I want to honestly ask you one thing. You have been a top notch journalist. Which election has happened without these two issues of Unemployment and Inflation. We grow in population in 5 years, this growth is more than the economic growth of the country. As such India is resource scarce economy. So job demands ought to be much more than the supply. Secondly, there has to be a reasonable inflation in the economy for it to grow, for people’s salary to grow, for farmers to get better rates and so on. The impact of deflation are horrible. So these two issues will keep coming in elections for another 25 years at least. I am 50 and have actively seen election since 1989. Opposition need to have impactful and better issues for the public to align. They are missing those. Oft repeated issues of democracy, dictatorship, unemployment, inflation and freebies will not make an impact. The opposition must move to better people well connected to ground.

Unemployment is a very difficult problem to solve. There are no easy solutions at all. Suppose we had extremely skilled labor, it would help address it to some extent. But skilling people is a time consuming process. A good engineer takes 10-12 years to skill himself. If such a thing happened in 80's we could have enjoyed its benifits in 90's. And so on. And then there is technology like Chat GPT that will storm and threaten to kill ~20% of jobs. Who can plan for that? No govt or no individual can plan for such radical changes. Be prepared, unemployment will be a challenge for a long long time to come. And TBH, it takes no genius to point of unemployment. We all know that. You don't have to do a PhD in political science in JNU to point that out. No one believes that Congress has a solution. BJP still is our best bet. Cheers and best wishes!
