The whole +44 is about healing from pain and loss, but with Chapter 13 in particular, you can really hear Mark pouring everything out about the blink break up, about how much it hurt him, about how much losing Tom hurt him.

Personally I think the +44 album is a masterpiece. I love blink, I love +44, I love Boxcar, and I even like some of angels and airwaves, but this album is just tops. I would compare it Self Titled, in the way that it’s just pure emotion, and it sounds like someone just sat down and just wrote their feelings down as they came out. And that is the most beautiful kind of music, not to put down the other Blink albums.
@emilymonge86178 жыл бұрын
I've been looking for this song for years and years and I gave up. I only remembered the guitar riff so it didn't help much. Recently, I got really into Blink, and I started listening to the other bands the members went to. When I listened to the WYHSB album, I fucking shit my pants when I heard this. I nearly started crying. This song will always hold a special place in my heart (even when it stops beating ;D).

They gave everyone free tickets who came to their Best Buy album signing on la brea, cause they didn't make it out a month before and all these people came out for nothing. Funny thing is that I only heard about it in time to make the second one. I remember flipping out when we saw them handing people tickets. It was a really private great show. Was awesome to meet the band too. Great times, 2007ish, I was probably 16 or so.

My mind keeps racing, she's softly dreaming I'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening Chapter XIII é minha canção favorita, mesmo incluindo todos os trabalhos do Blink e AvA, algo totalmente pessoal obviamente, e considero esta a composição mais intensa do Mark.

And my heart hangs from this noose Like your footsteps in crowded rooms Filled with sweet scents of autumn blooms Is this what you imagined? Catch a glimpse from her empty stare Hidden eyes behind her auburn hair Catch my breath for the smoke to clear And it's just as it should be My best layed plans will build and break your heart Her guilty hands tear my whole world apart My mind keeps racing, she's softly dreaming I'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening And we'll wake up in vacant rooms Pull you close to my aching skin Broken glass on the porcelain Is this what you imagined? We'll forget what we used to say And our lives won't mean anything Pull me close as i drift away And it's just as it should be My best layed plans will build and break your heart Her guilty hands tear my whole world apart My mind keeps racing, she's softly dreaming I'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening And we'll both take our revenge But we still won't feel any better And we both take our revenge But we still don't feel any better And we'll both take our revenge But we still won't feel any better And we'll both take our revenge But we still won't feel any better And we'll both take our revenge But we still won't feel any better And we'll both take our revenge But we still won't feel any better I'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening I'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening I'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening I'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening To me at all

Great lyrics from Mark he definitely is a talented musician
*Meaning of the song:* "it's about chapter 13 of Dantes Inferno which is about suicide. A guy seeing a woman across a crowded room and in that instant, he knows exactly whats going to happen: He falls in love with her, goes crazy and kills himself in a hotel room." These are Mark's words
God, how do people make such beautiful songs?
Man this band deserves more love. +44 is underrated. I mean this song and the rest of the album is amazing man.
I don't understand how someone can write such beautiful songs.
What a legend Mark is
Even if Blink doesn't get back together, i hope i see a picture of all three original band members hanging out ten years after they retire. Just, hanging out forgetting about everything and just enjoying the time's they had together.

Welcome to the age where Travis Barker is in three bands at once.
Pretty sure I was at this show!

Same here! Even though I've known blink since I was a kid, I just recently got into the projects such as +44/BCR. I love the vibes of this song. For me, it's a mix of nostalgia, melancholy, pain and ultimately hopelessness (and I'd like to believe a tiny bit of acceptance). But in an incredible way, it makes me appreciate life even more!
