Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here I try to show an "easy" method to sharpen a stone or glass knife blade. Many beginners have asked me to demonstrate this. Hope it helps.

"To make it look new. Or... newer." Nothing beats some flint knapping banter.

That's radically different than how I do it. Work the entire blade bevel to right thickness. Abraid. Grab the fine and ultra finest tools in the kit. Carve individual teeth at opposite angles and "pops" Think needle tips with a curve. Just when you think it's done , pop one more right in the middle of each tooth. Ideally it should look very mean! Run the serrations across a pice of leather.... If it effortlessly goes through, it's done. There is definitely a trick and mastery to it.

Try hot glue instead of set screw just heat up to move

Just started watching your channel. Maybe you've already resolved the cracking due to the setscrew. After drilling your hole for the setscrew, maybe try running a thread tap through it before driving the setscrew in? I would also make a small divot or cup in the grounding wire for the setscrew to settle into. This way you don't have to tighten the setscrew down so much. The cup in the grounding wire will prevent it from moving out of the tool. Only a suggestion. Great vids either way!

+Fuzzy ZX6R It just takes time. You'll notice this blade has a really big flake scar on one side. It was almost too thin in that spot. so it's not perfect. :-)

I bet if you were using Otzi's flaker, a person would get better results than with copper.

Btw would burning the edge just a bit make it smoother, or would it become dull

If I don't have this tool is there any way you could flint knapp a flint blade?

You can make the tool yourself or you can use a copper or steel nail. Try whatever you think might work.

Do you use some original leather for a pad on your leg? I havn't gotten cut on the leg yet, But I still want to be safe by not slicing my leg open xD

No, I don't use a pad on my leg unless it's a small pad and only if I need it temporarily. I wear pants, at all times, for leg protection.

Can you make them extremely sharp? If so i will buy one from you. I recently bought a Bowie style triple flow mahogany knife from Tony Stanfield but it isn't that sharp.

Right now I'm not selling any knives. Obsidian and glass are actually very difficult to sharpen while keeping the edge "looking good". It's a trade off.

Im less concerned of the appearance of the knife but rather the edge.

Could you point me in the right direction as to whom would sell a sharper version of obsidian knives?

If you don't mind removing more of the edge, then yes. But when resharpening, it's important to try to keep it as wide as possible so you can sharpen many times.
