Looked too me like Marlar's contact was with Overton. Overton was in between Marlar and Weiss going down that straitaway, and looked like Weiss slid down right in front of them going into 1

Agreed, that's exactly what happened. I guess Marlar felt it all could have been avoided if Weiss hadn't cut down in front of Overton causing basically a chain reaction.

Thanks again for the show. Me being Canadian I was glad to see Ricky Weiss up front. Marlar was after the wrong guy. Looked to me Marlar drove over Overton. Overton should be the one pissed at Marlar.

Love the video. But these slick ass tracks sure take the fun out of super late model racing or any big power dirt cars for real!

Yes we agree with you, however, it seems the teams prefer slick tracks like this these days over hooked up faster tracks because of wear and tear on equipment. Where they travel to so may races these days slicker smoother tracks are not as hard on equipment. From the fans point of view though yes it is definitely not as exciting most of the time.

So early on McDowell and a few other guys were making the top kind of work, but just past 1/2 way it completely went away just nothing up there to get ahold of anymore. 76 should be the one pissed lol. I like marlar but he shouldn't be mad at Ricky he did that by making contact with the 76 car! 157 went into turn one and hit the 76 I guess marlar thought Ricky didn't leave them enough room entering turn 1. That was just a racing deal in my opinion. The 23 car hit Marlar in turn 3 that's more of a reason to be pissed at a driver. This was unlike Marlar he is wrong this time for being pissed at Ricky it's a slick ass track and they was 3 wide something like this is eventually to be happen

Ya like you said close racing. they were all fighting hard for the bottom at that point. Not enough room for everyone.

Maybe someone can explain the visual optics that going into the corner it looks like the rear tire is spinning backwards and then spinning the appropriate direction would love to know what that's about

So what you are seeing is when they shut down the throttle to set the car in the corner the negative inertia gives the illusion of it spinning backwards, when it goes forward again is when they pick the throttle back up. Good question! Thanks for commenting and supporting our channel !!

Ya he definitely didn't give Overton any room resulting in Marlar getting into his left rear...very unfortunate indeed!!

Welcome as always, and as far as Cherokee Speedway goes we wished the track had stayed together better. Not sure if that was what caused the tire issues or not but regardless we would probably visit again cause it’s a historic track to the southwest.

@@rayfoxworth2360 Ya I have seen some footage of some really good races there for sure. Seen a heck of a race there myself actually when I was younger in the early 2000s when it was still a 1/2 mile which was the last time I was there. That’s one reason I was looking forward to coming back. I hated to see the track break up and everyone having tire issues sometimes that does happen with daytime racing though ….hopefully next time we come back the track will be in better shape! And yes the cars go plenty fast there especially for it being only 3/8mile now with not a lot of banking. Thanks again for watching our videos and supporting the channel 💯

Are limited slip rear ends legal?

Which class are you referring to? Late models and modifieds all run after market rear ends that are posi- track with interchangeable gear ratios.That is to adjust for track size and or contains.

Little bit of a definition problem as to where the track starts and the infield begins

Ya they were trying to get ahold of anything they cold that might have some grip init lol. That happens a lot in day races like this where the racing surface goes completely away. If they get too carried away I have seen big flags thrown over it though.

I just hope the announcer wasn't a paid position lol.
