Minteh has earned his chance in a position that we're desperate to strengthen, and it would cost more to replace him than we'd get. We've dreamed of unearthing such gems since the PIF arrived, so it's mental to me that many fans would sell this kid at the drop of a hat. He's lightening quick, creative, two-footed, clinical, hard working and a ferocious tackler. Basically, he's everything that Howe looks for in a player and everything the squad needs. To sell him now would be nuts, IMHO.

Selling a baller in a position we are desperate to fill and will cost us the same amount of money is just PSR madness and bowing to “elite”

If we bring in Minty and get Toonali back, it'll be like two big summer signings!

👆 This!! Also, Hall & Barnes hardly played last season, so that's 4 new players practically. We don't need to spend that much this year, except a RW & maybe a back-up goalkeeper/CB, we already did the business last summer!

If they sell him, this will prove that football is about as interesting as the stock market now.

Good luck finding someone to pay any kind of sum of money for Wilson!. He's a walking sick note. But I agree, why pay through the nose for a RW when we already have Minteh? Imagine next season having him on the right and Flash Gordon on the Left! 👍

To put another spin on the Minteh scenario, if he wasn’t on the Toon books and our scouts were all over him , we as Toon fans seeing his goals assists and stats would be desperate to sign him , and if Liverpool came in and did a Chelsea and snatched him away we would all be gutted . If Liverpool are prepared to pay 40 mill and with Arne Slot already having coached him and obviously thinks he’s good enough for the Prem it’s a no brainier KEEP HIM 😃 HWTL 👍

Ten Hag worked with Antony, thought he was worth 80 million and that hasn’t worked. Slot has less of a pedigree than ETH. Here’s hoping Slot is as Bobbins as him.

Totally agree with you. We’d have egg in our faces if we sold him and he turned out to be the next Messi! Keep him, sell the dead wood and give the lad a chance in the B&W shirt.

It’s all to do with the 30th June deadline I’d have thought. Saudi window doesn’t open til 1st July so Almiron sale doesn’t help. Man U probably hoping for cheap Ashworth conclusion pre that deadline. PL TV facilities money down on last year…Some of the new deals kick in post 30th June. The Minteh thing is like the Spurs attempt to sign Johnston on the cheap last summer, as Forest had to balance the books by 30/06. Others see an opportunity. After that we can spend without penalty. Make a stand, play the long game, take the points hit. Points gained by Minteh retention and sense of injustice might just push us to greater things anyway

I am puzzled by this ruling, if I'm right we have to sell someone for 25 mills on the last day of the month and then buy anyone at any price the day after? If that is true, give your head a shake and think about it, there is a loophole the size of France in that. Go on think is there any restrictions? What might they be, if not then think hard. I won't spell it out but some owners like INIEOS own more than one club don't they?

Selling him would go against everything we are trying to achieve in growing the club. . Unless Eddie has changed his mind -which he shows no sign of - this guy will soon be in the first team squad filling a much needed role. If we sell him - and I don’t think we would get £40m - we will end up spending more - even allowing for the head room that would give us under FFP - to get someone good enough to improve the squad. And then we’ve got the prospect of him turning up in a red shirt and putting a couple past us. For me : HE STAYS !!!

It's a keep for me,,but I have put faith in the clubs accountancy process. Sad but true and by goodness I hope it (PSR, FFP rules) changes soon.

Hate this FFP stuff. I've watched Minteh's highlights of last season, and he is already streets ahead of Miggy. He should be in the first team. He's quick, tricky, and goes past people. He can cross and shoot and dribble. I think we need to forget about selling him and look at shipping out others.

After having fights with some of our fan base that are still deluded to think stars are coming in. My first inclination was to sell him and make a massive profit. If he was a left winger I'd still say that but he plays in a position we're desperate to strengthen. If he's potentially that good (Liverpool won't want him if he's not) then it's a no brainer to keep him at least for a season and see if he's good enough - this then frees funds for other positions.

I'd be open to offers for loads of players bar Pope, Tino, Schar, Botman, Hall, Miley, Tonali, Anderson, Bruno, Joelinton, Barnes, Minteh, Gordon and Isak. They are the only players that are either good enough to be challenging or the potential to be good enough.

Need to offload Gillespie, fraser, lascelles, lewis and hayden before we look at selling him off. Their contracts expire in july 2025, so might as well cash in beforehand, if theres any takers and reduce the wage budget.
