@@Pirantsable I dont watch My Hero Acadamia, but the concept of a animated show set around the trials of a titan princeps as he goes to mechanicus training to learn of how to be a princeps, and eventually being partnered with his titan that has a very dominating machine spirit and learning to work together. Then they can be in a last stand scenario, where the situation is hopeless and the machine spirit does something never before seen and controls the titan without use of the princeps, distracting the enemy while the princeps sneaks off, the titan ultimately falls and the princeps escapes. Then we can have him grief stricken and unable to move on or bond with other machine spirits, his desperation and mysery gains the attention of the ruinous powers and they strike a deal, he will pilot their greatest titan (Skylok or Abominatus) on the condition that his titan's machine spirit be the machine spirit in use. He gets his wish, but the machine spirit revolts at his master's fall to Chaos, the machine spirit sacrificed itself and pulled off the amazing feat of piloting itself without a princeps, only for the princeps to devolve into dealing with chaos. But so strong is the princep's new found will that he subdues the machine spirit and they fight for chaos together, but the machine spirit hates him and is fighting unwillingly.

Orbital bombardment is very inaccurate in 40k. Plus the only real weapons that would be powerful enough to bombard from orbit and still have enough power to punch through larger titan void shields would be Nova cannons. And they are rare to see on anything smaller than a battle cruiser.

@@weldonwin Titans aren't armed with capitol ship weaponry. A basic macro cannon is larger than most titans. Remember the warlord is only 35m tall being generous with rounding Warlords can at most lightly damage small void ships in low orbit. Titans are mostly not used in warzones where regular bombardment is an issue. Where you have orbital superiority, orbit is too contested for either side to get a good bombardment, under Hive city grade voids, on a planet too valuable to risk bombarding etc etc

Titans are notably difficult to destroy from orbit. Void shields on a small object, over long distance. Sort of the way orbital defense batteries are difficult to do.

titan legions only engage in conflicts that they approve of, similar to astartes but with much more snoot and pickiness. they would rather see a battle lost, than lose a titan in general. as a result a titan legion would be highly unlikely to chose to participate in a campaign in which the enemy owns the skies completely

Becouse titans are a fully mechanicus construct. Designed on Mars after the Age Of Strife, they are one of the only things Mars actualy came up with and as such, their designes are almost impossible to lose.

Because titans aren't really mass produced. And the data on how to make them was very widespread. The reason why various things like contemptors and stormbirds become unable to be reproduced, is because the forges with the data on how to make them were destroyed, or the data itself was destroyed. The data for titans meanwhile was circulated to a huge amount of titans, so the specifics of how to build them survived. whilst other blueprints which were often jealously guarded by forges who didn't want to share, as a monopoly on that piece of tech gave them influence or power, ended up erased as they were only in one place.

For Hiveminds: 1. Focus on Armor and ignore shield research early. 2. Get hull Bonuses if they show up. 3. Stack missiles on Corvettes 4. Supremacy is the way to go. If they attack before your FTL research, you are fucked.

Reasonably vulnerable, if the saboteurs have melta bombs or other very high quality cutting tools to breach the metres thick armour and toughened plating. Sanginius disables an emperor class titan by dive bombing it and cutting into its head. The issue is getting there, they don't leave these big boys defenceless to infantry attack

@@aubreywright5562 Well I'm working on a renegade chapter (of sorts, it's more like a planetary society that lives apart from the empire and has its own Chapter made up from deserters to help back it up) based primarily on highly trained and highly equipped infantry, so I was thinking about how such a society would handle Titans, especially Imperial ones that could be used to purge them since they work alongside Xenos and have a more liberal society than the one the Imperium uses. Based on what you've told me I guess that if they had the proper equipment and tactics, they might even find that the larger the Titan, the easier it is to take out... but that's just me.

@@345635356 Hmm, to be honest in that kind of scenario I think you'd struggle to deal with titans at all, if you're made of deserters I can only assume your numbers would be low. If a titan is marching to war, it's marching to war with a huge force in support of it. If I was in your guys boots, i'd just get everyone to flee the cities, let the titans destroy them and attempt to attack the titans supply lines with guerrila warfare, cutting them off from replenishing their ammo or repairing damage and whittle the titans down over time, whilst keeping the populace on the move and away from the next target. Possible ways to deal with or slow down their advance would be, extremely heavy anti vehicle mines. Trying to force the titans into city fighting scenarios. On an open plain a force would struggle to ever get close to a titan, city fighting is the weakness of titans due to their slow turns and limited firing arcs. If you have enough resources you can attempt the Titanhammer tactic used by the imperial fists, teleport inside the titans voids and throw vortex grenades at it. Just rigging nearby stuff to explode like huge promethium tanks or power generators. Internal sabotage is possible, but it's difficult, you need to get to the titan safely and then breach its entry hatches. Warhounds are too fast to be reasonably boarded, but light enough that with enough massed firepower you could conceivably take them down without the need Reavers lack point defence but have awkward enttence points. but they'd be the easiest Warlord has point defence as does the Warbringer, making the approach for those two even more dangerous If an emperor class shows up, just call it quits. Ludicrous amounts of point defence, and a transport capacity of close to 100 soldiers who could help defend it. Its possible, but any mission to do it will be very dangerous and result in heavy casualties of the kill team sent to do it.But you might be able to do it

Dies Irae,[1] the famous Chaos Imperator Titan that laid siege to the Imperial Palace, was stated as being 43m (130ft) tall." I think it could use some cyberdongs for melee against ground troops.

For a Titan Princeps, command of their Titan is literally unceasing, and they are so linked into it that they almost forget their own body, so the best thing to do is pop them into a life-supporting fish tank that they can absent-mindedly swim around in while doing the important stuff. Amniotic fluid is basically a nutrient bath mixed with a bacta-tank.

I know Imperial Knights are not Titans, but are they part of the Collegia Titanica?

No. Knights will fall under one of two classifications. Those who are sworn to the Adeptus Terra will be known as the Questor Imperialis, whereas those sworn to the Mechanicus are known as the Questor Mechanicus. However they will often work alongside the Collegia Titanica, even though they aren't officially a part of it.

As an example, the Warhound titan Imperius Dictatio from the Titan comics uses what would today be called a Throne Mechanicus, with it's Princeps freely able to leave under his own power after every engagement (though the experience of being joined to the God Machine is highly addictive).
