Its so amazing apparent how, interior decor especially, the outfitting of boats has moved on in the last decade or so. Its a fantastic looking piece of kit, but compared to newer models on the market it looks so dated. Not taking anything away from it in the slightest of course, its just so clearly an 'older' style of design. Fascinating.

Wow. If I were ready to buy, I'd consider this boat. I wonder what her range is. I think they fit so much into 60 ft here, and I love her woodwork. You get a large shower with bench, two good master type suites, the bunks could almost be doubles on the twin cabin. Plus that lovely crew space, which could double as an excellent 'family' suite where a kid takes the single and the parents take the double berth. Those blue carpets match the counters well, and look to be pristine. I'd keep them, and just use a retro fabric on some new pillows, bedding, etc. I'd like to keep a vintage boat vintage!

The interior design is brilliant. Everything is designed on radius. Soft arcs, ellipses, half-ellipse, oval, stop-oval returns, and stop/start serpentine layout to avoid any 90° from the saloon to the crew quarters, heads etc. Fascinating forethought. Thanks for this Auq!

Seems like a lot of boat for the money! Yes, maybe some will find the choice of some of the decor a little dated and not to their liking, but buying that for 400k and spending another 100-150k replacing carpets, reupholstering the soft furnishings and updating some of the appliances, and you have a cracking boat for the price! Great video!

Love Horizon Yachts, ran a 72 with enclosed Aircon flybridge, no lower helm, but full country kitchen and dining area for 6, cat 3412E's and stabilised John Lay and his team at Horizon do a wonderful job, and will build a yacht to your spec, they said they can change almost everything but the fore and aft Engine room bulkheads....and they did! The boat was sold after 3 years and the cherry/mahogany woodwork was still gleaming and looks like by this example still good after 12 years... great review as ever....Horizon was then and still is a lot of boat for the money.

Changing fashions simply. Someone, sometime tought that looked good. Fortunately, on a 400k yacht, changing out the carpets to suit your own taste would only add a few % to the total cost.

Good question. And i dont even think it has to do with cheap boats, i think its just the era of blue carpets around early 2000s. This wasnt a cheap boat back then, i dont think somebody who could afford it, couldnt afford a proper, nice carpeting. So i think, this was "proper, nice" carpeting back then.

I bet you could negotiate sufficient discount to redo the horrible blue counters and carpet plus replace the outside cushions in a colour that won’t barbecue you in the med sunshine. One thing I like is the engine power. I bet a new Princess or Sunseaker would have twice the power so you can say “my yacht does 30kt”. But how much time do boats this size actually send doing more than 20kt?

Its a MEEEE LA. haha It's a wonderful boat I particularly appreciate the oval portholes which I suspect would be far more waterproof and Less maintenance than the modern designs. I was wondering if you could satisfy my calculation by estimating the number of creeks that you get per thousand pounds invested in such a vessel? The switchboard reminds me of a space shuttle.... What indeed would be the maximum number of suggested open-minded mistresses that could be accommodated on this ship of Dreams? The correct pronunciation for 'Miele' is "Me-Lah" the 'Me' as in me and 'Lah' as in 'blah' but with less accentuated 'aa' sound. Similar to the sounds of 'Sheila'. Can also be close to sounding like 'Mealer'. It's the German last name of its founder, Carl Miele.

Yep, mee leh afaik. Obviously the blue carpet means one would have to scuttle the boat, really no other way :) But replacing the carpet and blue counter tops and bedding and maybe the sofa and table could really improve the appearance. Much of the boat design works today. The blue does not however :) Depending on how expensive it is, if you really clean house, it could salvage a lot of boat for the money. A more or less full redo of the lounge/kitchen/helm could bring it close to a million+ impression.

Are you sure it was built in 2003?! That blue carpet and blue work surface in the galley, along with the square VCR telly, screams of the 80’s/90’s 😆 Enjoyable vid as always 👍

Nick, thanks for sharing this. 👍🏻I can confirm that Horizon's built quality is high end and as you said, everything is build rock solid and over dimensioned. Funny to see all the Miele pronunciation attempts in the comments 🤣 Non of them is correct. You should focus on reviewing boats equipped with Siemens, or Whirlpool 😉

Nick the correct way to pronounce Miele is like Sheila so it would be phonetical She-al-ah. I know this is old and perhaps by now you have it off pat but thought I would throw it in there.

Its a dream boat for a lot of boaters but the problem with this kind of purchase is not the price its the bills... berth, winterizing, engines services(when i see how i pay only for the oil for 2 cummins 330cv...) and the fuel ( i think she burns a little 300 liters an hour...). These boats are like castles... cheap to buy, headhacke to run... Forgive my english, i am from belgium.

Could you do a bit on how you (or other yacht brokers) get into the business of showing boats to potential buyers. And what incentives do ship makers get (eg. Sunseeker, princess, riva etc) get from KZread publicity. Sort of like an insider look. Love your content, you are destined for growth.
