Honda and Hero both have a tendency to not care and kill the legacy of their popular motorcycles. Honda could have taken the CBR brand to another level- the motorcycle had its own following, a more matured one and it had very good reasons. Lovely styling, smooth engine, that clutch was the best I'd say, super super reliable and could take a lot of abuse. I owned a 2012 model and clocked over 2,66,0000 in around 8 years. Rode it all over India- had too much trust on it that made me neglect maintenance. I only ran it on oil and filter change and would service it once in 50,000 kms. The first block piston change came in at 1,75,000 kms- even the clutch was stock then. Came from a 6000+ kms ride and never checked oil for a month- there was hardly anything left (synthetic oils vapourise quicker than mineral). Then started running again- got lovely mileage in the city like Mumbai, hardly went below 35 kpl and on touring keeping the throttle pinned between 100-110- it would touch and even marginally cross the 40 kpl mark. What an amazing motorcycle- mercilessly killed by an ignorant manufacturer. Gave it to a friend who rides and I moved to Canada and now ride a big bore Bandit 1250s. Still so similar to the CBR despite 3 cylinders more and 5 times the cubic capacity. But I miss my little Honda so much. It takes a genuine motorcycle enthusiast to appreciate what a lovely machine this CBR is. EDIT: BTW, I experimented a lot with oils and the best I'd say (you may be shocked) is the Shell Rimula Diesel Engine Oil. Despite mineral, has a long drain interval and smoothens out engine vibes to a great extent. There are different variants of Rimula- googling around would help knowing which grade.

I don’t think that 2018 onwards CBR is 24 bhp, pls recheck. I own a 2018 CBR ABS variant. It still is 26.5 bhp @8500 rpm, source Autocar India.

@@texastiger7139 My experience was very good. If you want linear performance with good brakes and handling, go for it. Tyres: Replace contigo with Michelin for great handling.
