I'm glad you enjoy it! Been playing Maple basically the entire 20 years it's been around with breaks off and on so this is something I've wanted to do for a veeeery long time. Especially since MapleStory is the whole reason I knew KZread even existed.

@skanksu Buff Freezers effect is becoming a permanent passive effect of the game so we get all the benefits without the requirement of buying perishable items.

I think you might mean my cape, the one with the white fur around the neck. It's called Silver Wolf Cape and it came from a Surprise Style Box.

Only reason I didn't include it but included something like Afterlands is because getting Afterlands is the same for every class and I know that Will of the Alliance is a little bit different for each class group. So I really just don't feel qualified to try to summarize it in 30s-1m at most to fit in a video like this. But it is a great lesser known thing for free stats!

I promise you it is more of a trainwreck without the magic of editing! Recording yourself regardless of making content with it can help you recognize problems with your speech habits. I wish I could say it translated well to my everyday speaking but at least it helps with recording.

It's an option they added somewhat recently, it has its moments of being useful especially if you play with max FX on during bosses like myself. It's under Options > Laboratory > Check the box then alter the settings

On point #9, how do players force runes to spawn, and why do they chase Darkness runes?

You can only really influence them to spawn by entering a map nobody is in and being in it/killing mobs to get one to spawn. Darkness forces 3 Elites to spawn and many monster collections require specific elites as well as events often have killing elites as an objective. Outside of those reasons elites are also just EXP pinatas so they're good for that too.

Exactly! Permanent buff freezer effect on every character, it's really a HUGE QoL change.

WHAT?! okay i didn't know that elites spawn after mob count, thought it's pure rng with 5 minutes cooldown after killing one on a map

It's not an exact mob count but there is an estimated minimum 3 minute cooldown between them and some requirement of mobs killed/increased chance per mob killed. As with most things in Maple we'll never truly know the real data but you will notice more elites if you go with the channel swapping method.

Total beginner here, why does everyone want Runes of Darkness and what is the significance of Elite monsters? I've seen a few of them but I didn't know they were anything special

Elites give significantly more EXP than a regular mob and are often needed for events (killing X amount of elites), some are even needed for monster collection.

So it's a bit tedious. It drops for beginner-type characters (heroes before aran, resistance, beginner, cygnus knight etc) from low level mobs (I use Rien) You have 2 options. First, farm it as a beginner on a new character, you can level beyond 10 if you need to. Second, party with someone on a beginner (alt account or very generous friend) and have it drop, let it sit on the ground til it becomes free for all loot and loot it on your main. It's a "rare" drop so it can take a while. I've gone up to a couple hours before.

Some yeah. I'm not entirely sure if it's Zakum EXP or just the "Zakum tech" of killing the arms and coming back. With the removal of the 30 minute boss cooldown the second option makes sense.

Their identity of stealing skills to make their own kit is one of my favorite ideas in games. As an oldschool Stalker main in Ragnarok Online I was overjoyed when Phantom released in Maple.
