4 wheeling on Black Friday. Traction was 50% off! Sidewinder at Corral Canyon
I snuck out for a few hours to go wheeling with friends on Black Friday. Sure I missed out on the $199 flat screen TV.... But that's not my thing. Instead we went and ran Sidewinder, a great rock crawling trail an hour east of San Diego at the Corral Canyon OHV area. Follow along to see how this trail treats a Suzuki Samurai, a fully built Jeep Wrangler TJ, and my old personal vehicle, a 1999 Isuzu Amigo that is on custom suspension and big axles.

This is probably just because I’m a poor guy from Canada but I’d rather watch backyard built rigs on 35-38” tires go wheel than $150,000 rigs on tons and 40s.

Looked like a good time, my favorite style of rigs! Wheelers make the best filmers of wheeling, always know the right shots to get. My first car was a '93 5-speed Geo Tracker with absolutely no options - no radio, no AC, no 4WD, no nothing I rallied the hell outta it, got air with it, drifted it, did all the stuff that's exceedingly sketchy/dangerous/illegal in a Tracker and it never broke a sweat. I've wanted to get a 4WD Tracker ever since the day I sold that thing. Maybe an early '00s style build, that transition period when leaf springs begun fading and links started to catch on, and do a leaf sprung front(Toyota?) with linked rear(Explorer 8.8?). I always thought that was a cool & unique setup reading the ol' Peteresens 4 Wheel & Offroad growing up, a lot of those rigs seemed to work well.
