With the advent of electric power steering columns that could be a viable option for some applications.

Is this an off road application or a drag truck where articulation isn't really an issue. I reaaaaaaly want to try this on my slightly lifted daily driver but almost no one does what seems to be a really straightforward swap. I've already put a rack on my 2nd gen 2wd ram and its amazing.

Have you considered doing a stand alone kit for the 2nd gen ram 2500/3500 4x4? With as many complaints as there are about the poor steering feel for that generation, I think there would be a market. You could offer a selection of the collapsible section to accommodate multiple lift options.

Is Lyn a fab guy by trade or did he learn as he went? I’m seeing some fantastic work come out of the shop either way.

I am not a fab guy by trade, I am self taught. I credit my grandfather for a lot of my fabricating skills. A lot of fabricating is common sense and being able to visualize things in your head. Also being willing to learn from those around you that are willing to share their knowledge with you goes a long way. No matter how good you become at fabrication you need to always be willing to learn from others.

Out of curiousity: why not do a hydraulic setup like used in Rock crawling or Ultra4? It must be a headache getting the linkage working correctly with the supsension travelling up/down. Then you only have two hoses going from the frame to the axle.

I don't like the idea of a full hydraulic steering at 150 mph. But maybe I'm wrong?
