Firstly it should be made MUCH MORE clear that you cant get jack with this software unless you pay for PRO which is fine once you know. But I am pro now and i ran the recovery via LOST and it found gigs of absolute rubbish ive never seen before. Real weird stuff. The 100 videos I accidentally deleted were sadly no where to be seen. I acted within 30 mins and didnt restart the pc and or touch the drive but no luck. The scan took over 30 mins to do but found nothing in the recycle bin. And of the 4179 videos it found none were anything to do with what I lost. But there was so much stuff id never deleted. The only variable is those videos were deleted from another drive outside of the main drive. But they still go to the same bin. So I have no idea and feel that PRO was not worth the price if it cant find even one file. Unless I am doing something wrong but as I followed the sites guides im not sure what that would be....:(

Hello, sorry to hear about that. Generally, folders and files in "cloud" storage are not recoverable. The whole idea of a cloud is that the file is stored not on your local computer, but on a remote server. It's not possible to recover a file that was neither downloaded nor utilized on your computer directly. This is also true for iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, and other cloud storage platforms.

May i know which file type you are recovering? I am trying to recover a zip file, and the recovered file type became .symlink. This file is important for me. It is my few weeks of work.

Great video. My question is how to access the recycle bin of an external hardrive. To add more space to my external hardrive, I deleted unwanted and duplicate files and they went to my desktop recycle bin and deleted there but it did not clear or free up space on my ext. hatdrive. Most of these hard drives have an binternal hidden recycle bin . I need to access that. How do I? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Man, fingers crossed, I did a teardown/rebuild of my Conan Exiles dedicated server and forgot to save the database file that contains all the players' months of progress! I've got disk drill scanning and I'll check in the morning.

I found the file and it had an image/thumbnail I might say. When I recovered the file using the Software, it didn’t show. I tried Again, I followed all the instructions. I don’t know what went wrong. I just recycled my bin less than 10 hours from now.

hey I have a question, yesterday I accidentally deleted many mp4 files (overall around 10-15gb) and I want them back. I tried everything already, many different recovery programs but my mp4 files couldn´t be found, but files from 2 years ago got found - how is this possible? I only installed like 100mb (recovery programs) since I deleted my mp4 files, so there´s no way that all around 60 files with many gb´s are already overwritten right? what can I do? Hi there! Sorry to hear about that. The only way to verify your files recoverability is to download Disk Drill Basic, run the scan, and preview the file(s) in question. If you managed to preview the file you needed to recover in a basic version, please email us at help@cleverfiles.com for further assistance. No preview just means that the file might be damaged or corrupt, it can be recovered, but it might need to be repaired.

You can select which items to recover, however, before that you need to scan the whole drive.

The Trash Bin is only available by running a Quick Scan. If you can't see the Trash folder in the QuickScan, you will need to run the "all recovery methods" scan and try to locate the files in their original location. You need to look for particular files, not the Trash can.

Hey there, I have lost some video that I have recorded with my phone, but I couldn't open them because it was not saved, I tried many things to recover them no ways, but it shows that the files are not empty. Please help if you can thanks.

Hello, every recovery case is unique, depends on thousands of parameters. The only way to verify your files are recoverable is downloading Disk Drill, running the scan, locating the files in question and previewing them to verify the content. It looks like my files were found and I can recover them. However, I realized each excel file has the exact same data even though I know the data should be different. Any suggestions?

Great program, it worked perfectly

What happens if you “permanently delete file” from one of your flash drives or anywhere on the “my computer” in general? Because I downloaded disk drill and it’s only showing my deleted files that are in my recycle bin. But here’s the thing….when it was permanently deleted, I thought it would go to the recycle bin but it didn’t. It totally slipped going to the recycle bin and just permanently deleted from my USB drive without even making it to the recycle bin. So with that, I can’t find it in the disk drill files it pulled up. What do I do? I’m panicking and lots of memories are gone. I need help. 😢

If the file hasn't been overwritten, chances are you can still recover it. If you can't see your files in the Trash folder in the QuickScan, you will need to run the "all recovery methods" scan and try to locate the files in their original location. You need to look for particular files, not the Trash can.

@@cleverfiles in the disk drill search bar I typed in every specific name that pertains to the file and it’s not coming up. It was a folder that got deleted. So I typed in the folder name exactly how it says and it said nothing. I will select “All recovery methods” when I get home from work. Thank you, and I hope this works 🤞 🥺

@@cleverfiles turns out I did run all the scans. Still not there. The way I must of deleted it made where it was deleted from my “My computer” I tried to copy it by dragging it over to a new spot and then I deleted the original copy of it but when I did it asked me “are you sure you want to permanently delete this” it was odd that it asked me that instead of asking to delete. Because I’m order to permanently delete something, you have to delete it from the trash bin. But so I clicked yes. And then poof, that was it. It skipped going to the trash bin and into the next place it goes to after gone from the trash bin…..that’s why it’s not popping up in the disk drill. Because I think I messed up the pattern/routine for disk drive to find deleted files. I think I through it off by doing that. I thought disk drive was good at finding stuff but I guess not unfortunately. Unless you can still help me. 🙏 😢

Tysm! I had a critical file and I needed it for a windows update.

Hey, I tried these methods and none worked sadly. Today on steam I deleted a game and reinstalled it, before realizing ALL of my save data left with it, and I purged the recycle bin. I tried using Disk Drill and others but it wont even show up, any ideas on how to fix? :)

You can scan your drive with Disk Drill to see what can be recovered from it.
