Just like you got to buy a $10 to $20 of kibble to see if they like it. If you can't make sacrifices for your fur baby just avoid getting one. Go deal with your family issues.

Bobbie the Portuguese mastiff died yesterday aged 31. Oldest living dog. Her other 2 dogs lived to 18 and 22. When they asked her what she fed them on (expecting some pearl of wisdom) she said they all ate exactly the same food as her and her family except for salt. Then... a few months back I met a woman walking her 2 border collies. One was 20 and the other 22 and she said exactly the same thing. They'd never had dog food in their lives and ate the same as her without salt, pepper or spices. Guess what my dog eats now.

@@seanmoses5225 you've got to use common sense really. Working border collies always ate what the farmer ate. A diet of mince, cabbage and potato. You can't start giving your dog curry or burger king. Also it's a lot of mince, a lot of cabbage then a small amount of potato (carbs). I've got one of those steamer pots so I'll cook a chicken leg (thigh and drumstick) for a couple of hours, take the chicken out and remove all the bones then put it back into the stock with cabbage, cauliflower, sweet potato...(whatever really) and carry on cooking it until the veg is cooked. Sometimes rice, sometimes I'll throw a piece of liver in there and so on. Avoid pork though. A lot of dogs can't break down the fat enzymes and that can make them seriously ill. We're almost brain washed into thinking you have to give dogs dog food. Totally untrue. It's a tin of utter garbage. Lips. tits and eye balls. Also, over cook the veg a little. Otherwise you'll end up with a very 'windy' dog and they'll struggle a bit to break the veg down.

Me too! I cook my dogs food and use kelp powder and ground egg shells from my ducks eggs for calcium! I use meat , liver egg veggies kale sweet potatoes with skin flax meal. Organic apple and blue berries but she doesn't seem to like berries. She'll eat apple if it's hidden amongst the rest

Did you recently buy a new bag of food? I asked because sometimes there are changes in ingredients and companies don’t have to share this information until two years later after the change. So if your dog is allergic to anything it could be the dog food. My dog knows not to eat something that doesn’t agree with him.

My dog's, 5month old Bully, morning breakfast is 1cup of Kibble 2 Multivitamins 2 Peanut butter dog treats, broken in half 3 Tbsp of Goat Milk 1 Egg, Scrambled. I make myself 1 Egg Scrambled using 1/2 Tsp of Virgin Olive Oil. I use the pan after to cook her, almost no oil whatsoever Edit: Her evening dinner Bowl is a heavier meal since by then I'm home n taking her out once I get home from work, after her dinner, n her night walk before bed.

LoL my dog hates eggs, bread, some cheese, biscuits, so on and so forth. He’s only 2 years old. He’s a mini Aussie mix. My husband and I have bought him expensive dog food, and cheap dog food, we’ve even made his dog food. It’s not working. We just started giving him scraps of what we eat. As long as it doesn’t have onions or anything else that’s bad for him well give it to him.

I’m kind of at a loss, I rescued my dog four years ago. She is so picky I’ve tried everything also. I’m at the point of should I start making her food at home, but then would she even bother to eat it, I changed her food twice this month. And she’s still picky. The other day she purposely knocked her food all over

If anyone don’t have bone broth or is too lazy you can add water or chicken broth if you have chicken broth

Why would you feed a dog kibble they don't want?? I don't think I'd want to eat burnt and processed pieces of meat daily, neither do dogs. Feed them better food!

Yes that’s fine, but make sure your using brown rice and it should make up no more than 10% of your dogs daily intake

Rice is better than dog food, dog food is basically packed "healthy" oats, switch to rice or wheat chapatti( it's Indian wheat bread, quite easy to make) you can even add different millets to the dough (don't use all purpose/refined wheat flour, it has no nutrients). You can also use oats, or semolina. give the pup some fruits instead of packed treats, give your pup yougurt if it is not lactose intolerant (flavourless, you can make it at home aswell), and trust me once you switch, you'll find that it's cheaper and healthier for your pup. I don't have much idea about meat for pups, so I'll leave you at that.

Green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potato, brown rice, yogurt, blueberries, cucumber, quinoa, chia seeds, olive oil, parsley, basil, turmeric, oatmeal, celery, a little cheese, peanuts, peanut butter, cashews, coconut are all safe for your dog. There is so much more! So enjoy making them delicious food!

Tbh mine won’t eat kibble. There’s only one brand she will eat - and even then only for a few days, you can’t get it in big bags so I’m stuck constantly buying small boxes of expensive kibble😭 so I just semi cook up meats, put a little veggies in there, oil supplement and occasionally some bone broth. She’s the bane of my existence 🥰🔫

My dog suddenly stop liking kibbles or home made food due to summer heat, became extremely picky and has also rapidly beginning to loose weight, due to which i am having to force feed her. Great tension for me.🤯

Start giving her goat's milk. It's very healthy overall and great for gut health. This will help provide some nutrition in the interim until you can figure things out. I'm going through the same thing. No more treats or human food.

Feed your dog protein only such as chicken pork or beef and add omega 3 and vitamin powder l have a 7 year old dog and he still weights the same and he eats the good amount of food

all that depends on the dog. my vet told me to expose my dog to all kinds of food so they develop a healthy bacteria in their stomach.

Mine didnt liek the broth.

While those are good and needed choices to add to food for your dog, the "food" you started with is not actually food. I do understand that most people don't or won't spend the money and time you prepare a real food diet for their dogs, however, real food keeps them healthy and there are less vet bills/visits. Hence it doesn't save that much to feed human grade food vs dried pebbles that have little nutrition other than what is sprayed on it If your dog doesn't want to eat plain kibble- there may be something wrong with it. Especially right now with all of the pet illnesses and some deaths from popular kibble

Some kibble is good you have to learn to understand the ingredients. There are some impartial websites that will grade your kibble for you.

Feed them real food…. Not that stuff.!! If you won’t eat it, why should your dog.!…. Duh.! (Except maybe raw meat…lol ).

I have 2 under 7 lb Shih Tzu that will eat homemade chicken rice and vegetables with some gusto one day and the next day its like I'm trying to poison them. I've wasted money on canned food that smells and TASTES good enough to eat. and they are like meh.. maybe one day.. next day NOPE! I buy good tiny bite dry food.. catch one eating it when I'm not looking. I'm about done!! I have a ton of other problems to deal with and picky dogs are gonna get yeeted to sleep in the bathroom on a rug with a dish of water and maybe they will be hungry when they come out.

Ugh… nope that’s way too much. All these things can be done on an individual basis. No need to slop it all together like that. For example. Take the kibble and toss it in the pan while you’re scrambling the egg. It’ll bind the kibble and egg so they can’t pick it out.
