So many producers have no interest in releasing things for themselves. They enjoy the stability of a regularly paying job that doesn’t hinge on public approval of their personalities. They don’t have to worry about the lack of privacy and constant backlash that comes with fame. They simply enjoy making music and know they’re good at it and want to get paid for their work, they don’t want to go on exhausting world tours or be hypervisible public figures. Producing is an entirely different art form from performing. Just like there are people who would rather be music teachers than singers, there are people who would rather be producers than celebrities. Not everyone wants some big grand life in the public eye, many people just want a calm job they enjoy doing.

I know right there's an apparent theme going on and F(x)'s is really ambiguous (for me xD)

This demo gave me another reason to love Adrian McKinnon and Tay Jasper. And seriously, did we need another? I love these guys! Thank you for contributing so much to kpop and SM music. There is till date no song in which Adrian has participated that I didn't like( most of them are my favourites) Shout-out to Umu from ReacttotheK for interviewing these guys and helping us to know about them!

데모 들으니까 4walls가 갓곡이 된 데에는 진짜 가사가 한 몫 했다는 게 더 와닿네... 한 편의 시 같은 가사가 포월즈의 몽환적인 분위기를 확 끌어올린듯... 레벨 킹덤검이랑 같은 작사가라는 게 진짜 대박이다. 외쳐 갓스란!!!

Hate to admit it but I like this better than f(x) version. 😭 like there’s just this vibe they give to it. Black people really have influenced so much of kpop.

[Unpopular Opinion] In this version the lyrics are telling a story and make sense. In the F(x) version it doesn’t make sense at all, they just wanted to sing this song in korean and peaked sentences that worked with the bass.

that doesn't apply tho only in kpop song translations. That goes as well with all the songs translated in another language. and also I hate to break it to you buddy but you'll hardly ever find a kpop song where the lyrics aren't bubbly and not meaningful.

Elissavet Argiriou i speak both languages, and honestly, I think they both make sense in their own way? The english og version does tell a direct story but the kor. Ver has more of an ambiguous element into it, hence, the aesthetic mv haha. I do agree that the kor. Has a lot of parts that seems to fill in the blanks (the eng parts).but hey, they both sound lit af.

human The Demo is what the official song is based off of. So technically this is is the original song then it was picked up or sold to F(x). Just like how Sia writes music for other artist and she’ll make a demo as a guideline for the actual song so they can hear what it’s SUPPOSED to be.

The song was never theirs as it happens. Composed at SM by LDN for f(x) and these guys (Tay & Adrian) wrote and sang the lyrics as a melody guide for f(x) :)

This song is such a masterpiece, even as a demo. Feels like it would have been a hit with these guys and the right promotion, but I'm glad f(x) got it, being one of the most artistic kpop groups and probably the best one to handle it

These guys shoulda kept the song. They would've made it big and become huge. Though, with a record this big it could easily overshadow them as artists. I can also see Justin Bieber releasing it with the lyrics tweaked here and there. Anyway, glad f(x) released it, but I would really like it if they ever released an English version. They did record the song in Japanese after all.... I'm sure it'd be a piece of cake for Krystal and Amber to write English lyrics.

Producers and songwriters probably make more (guaranteed) money by sending the song to a big company. It was a choice between them releasing the song on their own, as relatively unknown artists, and hoping it made it big; or giving it to SM so they could use it for an idol group with a guaranteed fanbase.

반대로 에프엑스 버전의 한국어 가사는 새롭게 개편된 네 명의 멤버들이 새로운 세상으로 나아가는 느낌을 주네요. 제목도 멤버수랑 연관성이 있어보이구요. 가이드가 사랑에 대해 노래했다면 에프엑스는 팀의 정체성을 부각시켜주는 느낌이라 색다르네요

sm은 항상 가이드 버전들 좋은거같음 하지만 에펙스 포월즈가 충격적으로 좋았기때문에 아쉬운 마음 1도 안들어...

I think the reason this demo sounds very lit is how nice and powerful the vocals flow ,f(x) version is addictive in its own right too with the soothing female vocals and enchanting forest vibes
