Thank you Kim (if I may call you Kim for short 😊) Thanks for noticing the lack of sponsorships. I’ve supported 2, but I turn down most because I don’t like doing commercials. There are psychiatrists who focus on root cause like Dr. Kelly Brogan and Dr. Ellen Vora. I think they are mostly on Instagram. But holistic psychiatry and psychology is becoming more popular to talk and hear about.

T2D for 22 year as well as Bipolar 2. Started keto 6 weeks ago went from 83 units of insulin a day to 15 units. Dropped 20 pounds of that “water weight” My labs were so great that my doctor said I’ll be off my diabetes medication and blood pressure meds by this December. This has been a lot of work. I was having serious withdrawal but now with all the fasting I don’t crave the carbs and I don’t eat between meals. I have always been the most undisciplined person I know. No looking back! I take 3 psych meds I’m hoping one day I will be off those soon.

I had a severe Panik attack lately and I Was trying to talk it out with my father but I couldn't get it together so he wanted to get my mom to guide me to the ER so I don't have to go on my own.. as he was about to leave the kitchen we were in, I was paniking even more and asked him to stay because I felt like I was going to leave my body and then he would grab me from the side and kind of squeezed me to his body so that my arms were unable to move and it was the most calming feeling! I did go to the ER eventually but it helped alot that moment .. the touch of another person or an animal is really powerful ! Sorry for my english 😅

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."

Dr. Marks, I thought I knew about all 4 of the tools that you mention in your video, but with this video (as with all of your others), you always provide extra information that is new to me, for example, most videos about intermittent fasting talk about the weight loss benefits, not that it aids in getting rid of toxins, or the growth and pruning of damaged nerves. THANK YOU for taking your EXTENSIVE knowledge, and bringing it down to the 101 level, and providing information that WE CAN ACTUALLY USE TO BECOME HEALTHIER. Your videos are TRULY HELPING SO MANY PEOPLE!

Whole grains like brown rice, whole wheat. Beans and legumes. Meats. Even white rice would be better. Rice, beans, and flour are all inexpensive. Eating healthier can be expensive and more time consuming. Take small steps at a time. Cereal for breakfast? Maybe oat meal with fruit and cream would be better. Or scrambled eggs on toast. Slowly reduce sugar added to your coffee. Etc. Small steps stick the longest, I think. I used to drink coffee with lots of sugary creamer. I slowly reduced the added creamer and now I drink my coffee black. Been drinking it black for 10 yrs now and no longer like creamer, cream, or sugar in my coffee. Good luck!!

I tried to regulate with pills, shot, lupron, surgeries, iuds, and at 34 I had a hysterectomy and everything removed except my right ovary. Many, many women experience not just food cravings, but intense pain, mood swings (oh the poor men have to deal with us), and many other symptoms. The diet one is a big issue for me to follow in this video because of a history of disordered eating and the language used to talk about food. Words like "cleaning up" and "eliminating" are pretty triggering for me, because high restriction and moralizing food are incredibly damaging for me. "Toxins" are also a grey area, because harmful fads like "detox tea" are laxatives and ultimately harmful. A healthier way to consider a diet centred on whole foods is to think of what you can add or swap out: adding more vegetables, swapping for whole grains, adding wholesome snacks, swapping a candy bar for something to hit that sweet tooth (or in my case, some nuts!). I'd really appreciate some more awareness and mindfulness on the language used to talk about food in advice videos like this.

I am like, hyper aware of everything around me... so I am always seeing details and things in life that no one else see or appreciates.... so I naturally feel the textures, temperatures, colours, sounds of objects and thinking about how they are made, I also listen more to my body / heart and always feeling/looking out for signs that something is not right... so many of the things Dr. Tracy Marks talk about is natural for me.... I have always have had Anxiety in public and or face to face with people and or groups or people, so I do not go out in public much... but next time I am in public and have Anxiety issues, I will take what I already know and try what Dr Tracy Marks suggests And the last thing she talks about with the blanket, I find it best when I try to sleep, is to kind of wrap my self up with a blanket as it is, but I never thought about why it is comforting..... so that is really interesting to me!.... Thank you so very much Dr Tracy Marks for everything that you do, you really do help a great many people understand them selves better

Dr. What starts the anxiety is the impending doom. I am currently unemployed. No fault of my own. I am having a real issue because I am 63. I am in great physical shape. People think I am in my late 40's. I cannot control the angst. I am on medication and a see a specialist. The chronic unemployment is getting to me. I have been looking over a year. I put in at least 40 hours a week. I was in the medical field. Pharmacological.

I understand and hope you get relief soon. I have the same impending doom as I’m 59 and under-employed and might lose housing if I don’t get a job offer soon. The doom anxiety sets in right when I (unfortunately) wake up. I hope Dr. Marks has a solution for us. Best to you ❤

A little PSA on intermittent fasting. Those who suffer from Gastric problem, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, GERD take doctor's advice before trying this. Because usually they tell you to eat small portions in interval of 2-3 hours

From experience I can tell you that fasting (or not eating) isn't good for you if you have anxiety. A number of people with generalized anxiety disorder have a stomach that produces too much acid (talk about the number of people with anxiety that have IBS, gastric reflux or other digestive tract problems) and not eating will let your gastric acids deteriorate your intestinal mucosa. If you eat something, the acid will deteriorate the food inside your stomach and will not be as harsh on your mucosa.

Great video. I notice when anxiety is high that I crave sugary foods like doughnuts, cakes, and other sweets. Eating these calm me for a period but the the anxiety returns, similar to a circular loop that feeds on itself

I watch videos from around the world that show what they eat and how they live. They have it going on with their homemade teas and homegrown vegetables. Their lifestyle is much more simple even in the city. It reminded me of how I used to be like that. Your mindfulness tip is also something I've been working on as well. Thank you Dr. Marks.

When is that window of time leading up to my cycle I have a very difficult time sleeping. I found that weighted blankets are very great for those times. Usually it’s very hard for me to get to sleep in that window before my cycle but the blanket definitely soothes me enough to go to sleep

Dr. Marks, could you make a video on a subject of sickness behavior? I noticed that whenever a flu or simillar sickness kicks in my anxiety related behaviours become stronger (loss of focus, pointless web browsing). Appreciate video cover on that in the future. Also, would meditation be a good practice I should introduce? One last topic - how to be productive when flu kicks in? Thanks!

Greetings from NC. I’ve been watching your videos for 3 years. My first time commenting. I noticed you have a side effects list for bipolar meds. Do you have similar lists for benzodiazepines and ssri’s? Would this list or a similar type of resource be included in the anxiety book? Thanks so much for all you do.

Dr. Marks, would you mind making a video about IOPs? I'm a little confused about the treatment plans for anxiety and depression in this form. Like how bad does your anxiety/depression need to be to considered for IOP?

What else is there to eat if anything that comes in a bag or a box is processed food? Spaghetti comes in a bag or box, is that processed food?

Spaghetti in a bag is _kinda_ processed, though not necessarily unhealthy. You can make DIY spaghetti or noodles from scratch at home. Only They wont dry up like bagged spaghetti.

I'm really sorry you had a bad experience with one or more psychologists. But please know there are good ones out there and that even if some aren't a good fit for you or are downright unprofessional, there are way more amazing psychologists and licenced therapists to find. You just gotta take the chance and keep looking ❤
