If you’re going to dismiss and belittle a mom whose son almost got kidnapped, you don’t deserve to be a police officer! Thank God for the neighbor being in the right place at the right time!

yeah they wouldn't/couldn't do anything but make a report sadly us normal people aka not cops think if you make a report and something happens like that again they will put the reports together and it will help but that is not how it works at all its all just unnecessary "paper" work that leads to nowhere. if they bother making the report at all.

@@supposedly1-2 or the police could have come out to take the report and looked around the neighborhood and possibly caught him. Yeah, that’s like when your house gets broken into and you call the police. Most likely you’ll never hear anymore about it but a report should be made. I’ve seen “useless”’ reports come in handy at a later date. And if someone was chasing my kids in the dark, I’m calling the police to come out.

cops don't do shi*t in most areas so some people don't bother. others like gangsters, 1%ers etc. don't call cops either they handle it themselves. So not a lot probably call i called once when we caught a tweaker breaking into our underground parking complex into our neighbors car fuckers never even showed up they called several hours later. First and last time I ever called.

@@McPerkins thats the problem, you want your kid kidnapped? They should know stranger danger, or else the parents shouldnt be neglecting them. Edit: the kid & his friends were 8 to 12, so thats worrying a bit, no parental supervision? The bottom text is before I knew that, but its facts so its staying; & did he explain how old he was? Cuz if this is a teenager, thats exponentially worse, we are young but wise enuff to know not to trust some stranger chasing our friends & not to care about losing a game at that point. Some teenagers are weird & dont recognize they are grown enuff to not recognize themselves as children, on the same level as a toddler, & I honestly dont have sympathy if they lose everything for that.

You wouldn’t believe it lol. I was a little older 6th grade when I started taking the bus. I was a small kid though. Definitely had some scary situations since I would have to walk half a mile to my bus stop. The road to the bus stop was completely dark for the half mile cause there were no street lights. Always sketchy vehicles parked there (creepiest was a random old RV with the windows covered up that parked there for two weeks than disappeared forever) and there was also a former meth lab house abandoned on that street i hated passing by cus there were still people coming in and out of it. I never mentioned it to my parents i was sketched out cause that wouldnt have changed a damn thing, i would just run to the bus stop a lot of times especially in the winter since its dark early when i was really scared. Was so glad to get my license finally in high school you wouldnt believe

Man I got two funny neighborhood stories from the other side. Context on the neighborhood: older (60s-70s) upper class suburbs, big yards long driveways and tons of woods separating houses & streets. Lots of connecting streets, culdesacs, etc. I lived on one such connecting street to the I guess main cut through road of the neighborhood, second house of the street after the corner house, easily the darkest part of my street since the street lights are at the intersection on one side, and the edge of our property between us & the third house. That out of the way, first part of the story was a summer night maybe in 20 or 21. My buddy & I are drinking some brews in my driveway, probably around 9. I have flood lights on the garage but they're usually turned off, no driveway light anymore cause a huge oak tree in the yard next to it had uprooted a few years ago and torn out all the wiring for the lamp post (somehow the tree fell with the lamp directly in the Y fork of the tree so it's still standing but...). So it's basically just us bullshitting in the dark probably about 5-6 car lengths away from my street at the top of the driveway. At some point we notice these four teenage girls walking down from the far end of my street towards my end, no big deal. As they get past the light from the streetlight in my yard and get into the dark part of the street, my asshole friend decides to howl like a wolf. They all scream like banshees and book it towards the stop sign/other streetlight... and the three fit girls totally left their overweight friend to the wolves so to speak cause she could not hustle like they could and was way behind. Apparently they were from the house directly across the stop sign. We saw a rear porch light come on, frantic descriptions of what happened to I'm assuming a father, commotion dies down a minute later. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off at their reaction but I felt kinda bad even though I didn't do anything. So fast forward to this past summer, the setup for this one is much the same. It involves the same house with the teens and my friends & I doing a little driveway drinking on a nice summer eve, roughly similar time of night. This time I was with two different friends not from the first story. At some point I begin to hear what sounds like a large party happening up at the opposite end of my connecting street, or perhaps on the adjacent street it connected to. I didn't think anything of it since people have huge parties all the time, but thought it was a bit odd it just sort of started being heard randomly. Well, all of a sudden we see this roving gang of what had to be at least 40 teenagers walking in a pack and all of a sudden they just start running in different directions, like into people's yards and the woods between houses and whatnot. Clearly they were playing flashlight tag like the good old days, fair enough, but times are a different these days compared to when I was a kid and they were kinda being douches. A minute or two go by and I hear some shit from behind us at the top of the dw. My house is surrounded on 3 sides by a strip of woods, the woods behind me run the length of the street separating our backyards from the next street over's backyards... all of a sudden there's 3 kids with flashlights wandering around back there, in a spot I know could be dangerous if you're unfamiliar with the terrain. I go investigate and catch them off guard with the deepest most intimidating "can I help you?" that I could, I'm not a big intimidating guy but my two friends can be, but they weren't involved. These kids are shook, stammering out a "uhhhh we're just playing flashlight tag" and they run off. I have a laugh, we go back to shooting the shit. A few minutes later, at least 3 police SUVs are combing the area with search lights and everything for a good 10-15 minutes. I guess one of the other neighbors called it in, I sure as hell didn't. Back in the day if you were having a neighborhood wide anything you usually informed other residents about it ahead of time, I'd assume these kids didn't think that far ahead and they were being real aggressive with their trespassing from the little I saw. Turns out it was the same house as from before, but I think all the kids were able to make a clean break and avoid getting caught somehow. To be fair, a lot of the new families that have moved in over the past few years are real uppity, scared of their own shadows, douchebags... I miss the old neighbors to be honest.

Story #4 I live in Tacoma. Back then my oldest was 11 and youngest was 1. I'm trying to recall the murder of the man. Either I have completely forgotten or maybe it wasn't on the news? I'm trying to place what street and area the family lived in but I'm not sure. One thing that I'm sure of is that now days with attemped or kidnappings you will get a lot more than just a few cops. So many have been abducted and murdered since then that they keep those on high alert. That young cop most likely understands now. As for that earthquake, it wasn't that bad at all. The next one in 2001 was pretty bad. If you know of the actor John Corbett, he owned a club in Seattle called , "The Phoenix." A ton of the buildings bricks fell to the ground and ruined it. Among other places.

Idk, story 4 didnt have to give us her entire lifestory. Could you just been, "my kid was off at school one day and when he was going to come home, my neighbor ran to my door cuz....". Instead, it was more, "I always knew I wanted too many children...maybe ,4, maybe 5, and so... YEARNING for a shitton of bs, I went on some dates to find some guy..." She literally gave us so much useless extra information. What was your other kid doing at this time?! Why introduce us to them if they dont matter?! Like am I supposed to remember this for later in the story? No! Should we get invested? No! C'mon... Thats storytelling 101. This lady just sucks

Spoilers………. On the first story:” Thank god the kids got save and also my mind was blowing when I also realize before the guy said it that the man was also playing with them. I will die of fear realizing that years late but they also should reported at the time even if the police didn’t do anything just incase the man did something like that again even if they didn’t have a description I don’t know🤔👀. Second story:”Good for the kid not to fall for the trap and good job to the mom for confronting the man. Third story:” Good for the person to get away but should reported to the police since it was like the second time of the man doing that and if the person saw their face maybe give a description to the cops so they can maybe check it out 🤷🏻‍♀️🤔. Four story:” This is the one that get me piss off so much. Like the mom said, she and the others could get the guys license plate and how he look like etc but because a 20 year old cop told you you were being a hysterical mom but you didn’t even when to the police station to MAKE A REPORT!. Like what ?,that was the most stupidest thing I have ever heard, you had the everything you need to make a report and also maybe could bust on the young officer saying what he did wrong, like what if the man was a serial killer or did something bad to other kids?,you could of stop it. 28 years have pass but at least everyone was okay and hopefully that man never did something like that again.

If your " game " you liked playing was murderer you were the creepy part of your neighborhood. Why not go all out and use real knives and fake blood, maybe a hatchet or axe. Bludgeon the victim and if you have to go to the ER then you lose. Go all out lol.

Why is it that all, or at least, most, of the horror stories on these story channels, take place in a regular neighborhood that just coincidentally, have a Forrest behind them? If not, they're in a cabin. Never in the city, or ocean- front property, or an island etc.

  • @YunginYu

Simple, forests are so easy to get lost in and easy to hide in, not to mention are also everywhere in the world. A lot of stories are also in the city because a lot of shit goes down in the city. But, you’re obviously not going to hear one in a video specifically titled “neighborhood horror stories” as thats probably more suburbia. I would also expect beach front houses and houses on islands to be pretty damn expensive places to live therefore much lower crime and crazy people. I know this because I have family that lives on both. And trust me, there is damn near no crime and no crazy people roaming the streets. Took me some convincing to let it go when i noticed he didnt lock his doors and i said he should, but thats “just not something people do around here”.

  • @YunginYu

But yeah, forests are a scary place. Probably the place associated with creepy shit happening the most so it is not surprising that a lot of stories are set in or around them. I also live in Washington where we have a lot of them, so there’s hundreds of thousands of people who’s house are in close proximity to a forest. And that is one state alone.
