Believe me I have seen A LOT of (flume) tutorials in my life. But man, this is insanely good, delivered in a straight to the point, understandable style!

The fact he says let just spread out some random notes like this, and plays it and it ends up sounding good the first seconds crazy 😭

You've got a knack for getting to the good stuff instead of just phoning it in by catering to individuals who are new to Ableton! Very nice.

changing the scale and getting rid of the unstable notes was an eye opener

Another thing he does frequently when it comes to chords is for the second bar in a two bar 4 chord loop, he'll invert the third chord, so it'll sound like a completely different chord but it's actually just inverted. He does the same thing with 3 chord loops as well, but then it's often the second chord. Sometimes he'll mirror the sub as well when he switches it up.

Some cool tips, thanks. Another way to get a similar effect as changing your loop time in the sampler would be adding an arp to synth and adjusting the rate. You can have the rate locked to the grid or keep it free.

8:59 This emptiness thing happened to me a long while ago with a remix of a track to which I added a very low-volume stuttering glitchy sound (via Fracture). Just about impossible (for me at least) to identify it when listening to the track, yet taking it out makes the track worse.

Nice tutorial! small note at 1:55 you said the 4th of d minor which would have been G but moves the B flat which is the 6th. Probably a small mistake in the script but if anyone tries this in other keys it should be the 6th

great video, great tips. one thing im gonna say though, is that you REALLY should to try cut down on the “umm” and “uhh” Be comfortable with silence. It’s okay to just pause when you’re talking, you don’t need the filler, and dropping it would help you come across as both more confident and more knowledgeable. Its clear that you’re incredibly smart as is, at least when it comes to music, and it’s a difficult thing to do, but it would improve the quality of your videos significantly.

easier said than done haha, removing a part of your standard word flow takes a lot of effort like any presenter, I'm sure it's something he's working on

Hey, I love these videos but I've noticed that there's this super weird "crunchy" noise happening to your microphone whenever you talk. Not sure if that's an issue you're aware of, but I thought I'd just put it on your radar, keep up the awesome tips!

trick #4 is something i've wanted to do for awhile, but i don't have ableton. any other plugin or even hardware unit that could easily replicate this (ie; playing with the sample end time & then maybe macro'ing that to a controller knob)
